Apple Pay & Better Camera ...

The camera is supposed to be very good, 12 megapixel. My tiny little point-and-shoot camera is 16 megapixel with 5X optical zoom and image stabilization. I cannot see the phone replacing that, though I will make some comparison shots, and will use the phone for casual pics when I don't have the camera with me. But for hiking, which is my main camera use, I cannot see the phone replacing the camera, especially since I won't want to subject the phone to the trail, and there's no cell coverage where I hike.

I'll check out Apple Pay, but without knowing more, it seems to me that my credit card is easier. The bank protects me against fraudulent charges, and Apple Pay is just one more middleman charging the store a few more percent that will get added onto the cost of everything we buy. However, I'm open to information and I might try it out.

I'm new here but have had all the iPhone's since release several years ago. I'm using the 6S+ now and have ordered a space grey SE! Can't wait to have a smaller phone for weekends and such. I love the 6S+ but too big for jeans and shorts imho.

I wonder whether the SE will get any of its big brothers' afflictions that some people are experiencing while using them :

Yellow Screen
Dust under screen and/or camera
TSMC Vs Samsung chips
Loose headphone jack

My vote's on the SE TSMC Vs Samsung debate starting soon :p
Cheers !

I love my 5. I like the size both for my hand and my pocket and didn't really want a bigger one. I saw a friend's wife with a 6S plus and thought "why not just carry a big screen TV around? Or at least an iPad?" To have a supercharged 5 will be awesome. Plus the price is good. I live in Canada where everything is more expensive and the sales tax is 13%. I will buy an unlocked one in the US and save money on the price plus on the taxes. Maybe I will use the savings to buy the insurance. Do most people buy the insurance?
Haha that's great
That's what I'm geting too and can't wait

No because I have an iPhone 6S Plus. If Apple had launched this model in september I definitely had bought it over 6S.

I didn't make insurance on phone while it isn't that cheap almost 10$ a month and 50$ when it's broken is too much imo. Home insurance is fine for me.

Thanks, that's good to know. I think in Canada I paid C$150 for the insurance last time. But I had an expense account with my company then. Now I'm retired.

I think they might use iphone 5s screens so a screen replacement might not be that expensive though. Normally that's a problem for most people .

I bet you are right. I went in the chat thingy to ask about the dimensions of the SE because I have a very cool, artsy, hard case on my 5 that I wouldn't mind keeping. They told me that the SE is exactly the same size as the 5 and that my case would fit for sure. This is an extremely tight fitting hard case. Very difficult to remove although I learned how to do it on YouTube using a credit card rather than breaking fingernails and wrecking the case and/or phone

bought it, try it 2h, sell it for the same price. i was a fan of the 5s and thought i could it be again. no way! tiny, bad display and bad speaker. now im happy again with my 6s :)

2 hours? Why did you even bother? You didn't give it a chance to grow accustom to the phone, surely you knew there would be some adjustment from a 6s to a SE. Sounds weird.

Yes, I thought it would have the same display or better. The size is exactly the same.

Awe. Let me guess: the 6S guys are still bitter about SE. I mean, you guys have 3D Touch and a few more things and we have one of the most important things: 2-3 hours of EXTRA battery life.

So, for me:

2-3 hours extra battery life > those extra features

Yea I've been thinking about it

Seeing iPhone 6s 1715mAH and a 1mil pixel display vs iPhone SE 1608mAH and a 700k pixel display...
usually screen is the main culprit of fast battery drain always. like if people never use their phone then obviously the battery holds up damn long but after being on screen non-stop it drops quick... and very fast haha [but that's to be expected because it needs power]

I hav a feeling iphone SE better batt life over the 6S... Can save 400AUD just by getting the smaller phone which is a dam lot.. I mean iPhone 6s/6s+ difference is 150AUD given comparing two same sizes.

Plus 3D touch to me ever since iPhone 6s+ debut on sept 2015... still haven't done much so I dont find 3D touch a dealbreaker however the speed/performance of a smartphone? YES.

I´m tempted to get rid of my Nexus 6P and get an 64GB Space grey.

Not being android or apple fanboy [I use both systems simultaneously] but why are you contemplating to change I'm curious...

Unless you have invested heavily in iOS I don't see muhc point as they almost are both equal with iOS having better control over background apps/etc [you can disable those things on your own preventing multiple apps working in background all at same time]... as a prime example. also less heating? i noticed a lot of android devices [my Previous ex-S6 was a good one at that... but the iPhone 6s+ I have now never overheats unless I'm streaming GPS/google maps as a prime example]... otherwies im good.

I like both android and iOS but now androids flagship seems to be creeping now into iOS pricing territory so it make almost little to no difference... [given my max usage is 64GB at the norm]

Main reason is size, second is Apps, most of my apps that i use are better optimized and better quality on iOS. 6P is a great device and i know what Andorid gives me but 5,7" is to big for my tiny hands. I know that Nexus 5X is avaible but it feels cheap, plasticky. I´m no fanboy and will never be, that´s just stupid but i like 5S design and 64GB is more than enough for my usage.

I did. I'm using the SE as my secondary phone, to use on my days off from work. I still will be
using my Note 5. The SE is much better when I go walking outside for exercise and when I'm
working in my garden.

Yeah, me too. For working out it's preferable. It doesn't replace my Note 5 (nothing could). But, it's pretty good and really fits in my pocket. My Note 5 and SE are a great combo.

They were not trying to make the SE better than the 6S. The point of the SE is a better version of the 5/5s, for customers
that like the smaller iPhones. By the way, mine does not have a bad display.

Do yourself a favor and test it out in person first. I had a 6P before, and the small size of the 6s is a much more usable compromise than going from a 5.7" to a 4" phone. I watched a sample video on both the 6s and SE, and there is just no point in watching anything on that tiny 4" display.

You are correct but my main problem is that my hands are small and i can't use my wifes ip6s with one hand comfortley. I don't see a problem with small screen, small screen = less time on youtube = win ;)
