Well, you have a clock on your phone, why buy a watch?
Because it's much easier to look at your wrist then to stop working while at work and pull out a phone, especially if my hands have goop all over them like grease.
I read an article a few weeks ago saying that watches are again becoming popular because of that very reason among other reasons.
I had a Seiko 5, but I think it was fake...bought it from a San Francisco tourist shop. Started counting a minute in 55 actual seconds. Bought this to replace it. Has everything I wanted, but it's not as charming as an automatic. Oh well.
Are you saying you think it's a fake because it's inaccurate? Some of my watches are off by five minutes a day!
It happens with watches losing time. I have an Atomic G-shock that is off about 18 seconds a day. People on a watch forum I visit found that hard to believe and wanted pictures. There are tons of fake Casio watches but no fakes have atomic/solar features. They believed it was real after seeing the pictures.
It's a Vestal ZR-2. nothing too fancy but the build quality seems very good. I also have it in polished silver, looks quite nice as well, although the black on black definitely is something different.
they also have it a size larger, vestal zr3, but honestly I think it's getting too big. I have pretty thick wrists.
Good point, but I had only bought it about a month earlier so it would have been a bit strange for it to suddenly start going that fast. Fake or not, I'm going to go have it fixed at some point.
I picked up this 1980 Timex windup from eBay. Was a buy it now auction at a good price. Brings back happy memories of when I was 9 or 10 and got my first wind up. Oh how excited and proud I was!
I've had it running a full 24 hours now and this thing has only gained two seconds, pretty good for a 32 year old watch!
The minor swirl marks on the crystal are unseen by the actual eye. The camera shows them in the photo but I can not see them under any light, even sunlight.

Crappy story here: I have an Omega Speedmaster it's off by about 5 minutes a day, which is pretty bad. Paid only $1500 for the watch; recently took it to an Omega dealer to have it looked it; said they can't fix it so they sent it back to the factory. Factory wanted $1000 to fix it. Yeah, not going to happen.
