Watches don't have to be expensive to be nice. I posted a $250 Orient diver a bunch of pages back. No shame bro' - Tissot is a quality watch.I recently bought a Swiss Tissot diving watch, but they are considered cheap, costing around 600$

Tissot are an excellent brand; ignore those who suggest otherwise.I recently bought a Swiss Tissot diving watch, but they are considered cheap, costing around 600$
"Cheap" is not the right work for Tissot. Daniel Wellington is cheap. Apple Watch is cheap. Tissot is value/affordable.I recently bought a Swiss Tissot diving watch, but they are considered cheap, costing around 600$
Tissot is not just "value/affordable"; it is, I would argue, a very well made, good quality, brand that also offers good value and is affordable."Cheap" is not the right work for Tissot. Daniel Wellington is cheap. Apple Watch is cheap. Tissot is value/affordable.

Another Seiko Sportura here - this one's the GPS / Solar version. Apparently accurate to 1 second every 100,000 years! 🤣 I have no idea why it looks so big in the pic, sits on my wrist just fine.A Kenetic that Seiko got right out the box, deadly accurate as in seconds per year, very close to HQ quartz timekeeping.

When/if you bend your wrist back, does that piece on the end (where the crown is) hurt at all?
I get asked what make it is a few times when I wear it but it's not often these days.I like that the background isn’t white. Sometimes that makes it difficult to see the time…
Solar & GPS being the more sensible solution...LOLAnother Seiko Sportura here - this one's the GPS / Solar version. Apparently accurate to 1 second every 100,000 years! 🤣 I have no idea why it looks so big in the pic, sits on my wrist just fine.

I really like the look of this Seiko. If I decide to buy something nice for my 'major' birthday, it will be one of these. Yep, I like it...What I have on my wrist today…
I can't tell exactly. But, what is the area on the left side for?A Kenetic that Seiko got right out the box, deadly accurate as in seconds per year, very close to HQ quartz timekeeping.

…thanks for the explanation.Battery charge status; hours, days, weeks & month. Seiko poured a ton of money into the development of Kinetic. While it made sense in the day, Kenetic was rapidly superseded by solar which is obviously the far simpler solution.
Think Seiko put so many resources into Kinetic they had no other option than to bring it to market. Resulting in a solution to a question that no one ever asked or needed. Seiko went on to shoot themselves in the foot by stating Kinetic is a watch that never needs a battery change. Yeah, early Kinetic chronographs can be easily into four figures to replace the capacitor due to the complexity of the movement.
My Kinetic Sportura is a simpler affair and shows little to no sign of battery wear. It's within my own skillset to replace the capacitor, but until I see any degradation I'll leave it be. ironically, Kinetic's now have the WOW factor back as they are very few and far between...
