Im keeping my series 1 link bracelet until AC+ runs out upgrade to the AW 3 :) hopefully the next edition is made of titanium with brushed or polished options but I've been tempted with the ceramic one.
[doublepost=1474685315][/doublepost]

I haven't check how are prices going for the OG series SS but I never expected for the price to hold much nor I planned to ever sell it, il just collect the cases and use my link bracelet with the new ones until they change how it slides lol

yeah the ceramic one is pretty sweet but at that price point i don't really find it attractive

Well i listed my SS AW1 on craigslist for 350 to see what the response from buyers will be and all i got so far are some lowball offers offering me $200, $180 so thats just ridiculous and i will not sell my AW1 SS for a penny less than 350, 350 i think is a fair price for a used SS Watch that is in excellent like new condition

People can buy those new at Best Buy for that price, so you'd be lucky to get it.

Best Buy even has a 38MM SS first gen watch w/link bracelet for 249 dollars. Sooo...

Yeah... terrible resale value. Might as well keep it until you don't mind selling it for next to nothing.

With the recent Best Buy blowout of brand new in box SS S0 models, 200 is probably about right for a used model such as yours. Depending on the bands you are offering with it, that could increase the resale. You might be better off hanging onto it or gifting it to a friend or family member.

To answer the question of the thread, I was going to upgrade my watch on day one...but after spending a few days with Watch OS3, I canceled my Pre-order and couldn't be happier. I am not a swimmer so I don't care about the water proof and the dual core and GPS are cool, but I am not a runner either...I mainly use the watch to keep an eye on my heart. I had a Fitbit for this but the Apple Watch Offers interactive notifications which are a nice feature at work. I am persaonlly not upgrading.

I have a silver aluminum watch and I'd be tempted to get a Series 2 to have a stainless steel one as an alternative. I'm put off by the idea of shelling out for a second white sport strap though (I have the one that came with my aluminum watch; I also have a Milanese loop and don't really want a leather strap). I suspect I'd be seriously contemplating buying a series 2 watch if it was offered with, say, the new blue sport strap.

Like others said, you can get the SS 42mm AW1 for $349 at Best Buy right and $249 for 38mm. They must've ran out of ones with sports bands but they were just selling the 42mm SS AW1 for $299 earlier this week if it had a sports band.

my craigslist listing for my apple watch SS 42mm with milanese loop is listed at 300$ for close to 2 weeks now and all i have been receiving are some lowball offers like 200$ and 250$ which is a joke, no way will i sell my watch for that low, if it means not upgrading to the series 2 then so be it

Those are good offers.

i dont consider that a good offer as i paid 700$ for my SS apple watch 1
So?

Like people have been saying in this thread, places like Best Buy are selling new-in-box models for around $200. Would you pay $350 for a used one if you were shopping now?

No i wouldn't , which i said above that it doesn't make selling my series 1 for anything near that price and losing out so much money just to upgrade and get GPS built in the series 2

I can respect that you don't want to lose $500 on your Watch. But calling a $200 offer a joke when a new one can be had for $250 is, at the very least, a stretch. I mean, you almost sound offended by these offers. Knowing what you know now, $200 is a great offer. Doesn't mean you have to take it. Just know you won't get a better one unless some sucker who doesn't know current value comes along.

Show me a link to bestbuy where it shows the 42mm stainless steel 1st gen apple watch with milanese loop is selling for 250$ brand new, and yes, i wont take an offer of 200, i rather keep the watch.

That one sold out. But there are leather bands available for $350. You could also get a 38mm with link bracelet that is technically a $1,050 model as soon as a month ago...

It doesn't really bother me that you won't sell your Watch. I, and others, are just saying you need a reality check in terms of the "ridiculous" offers you're receiving. It's not about what you paid last month. It's about what people are paying now.

Keep your Watch. Seriously. That wasn't why I posted. The resale is frankly what pushed me away from stainless with the series two. If I'm going to lose my ass I'm going to limit it as much as possible lol. If we get LTE and some other goodies that make the Watch usableoitside without a phone near it I will likely take the plunge.

i get what you're saying though, no hard feelings, i was just stating that it doesn't make sense for me to sell my watch for dirt cheap and add money on top of that just to get built in gps and a few other minor updates although i would have loved to get a brand new SS series 2.

I put my series 0 aluminum SG on CL for $220 the other day and got offers almost immediately. I was going to meet a guy and pulled out of the sale. I decided I wanted to keep it for rough activities. I love the new s2 SS too much to risk it. If I sold the s0 I'd only make 170 anyway cuz then I'd have to replace the black sport band that I find so versatile.

I'm on the other side of the things.

I just picked up a aw0 sb ss 42mm with black sport band. It's only 3 months old with ac+ until 2018 and looks unused. I paid $275.

I'm keeping my gen 1 sports model. I've even bought another SS gen 1 at steep discount from Best Buy.

I will not upgrade but I will buy NIKE version in addition of. I used to buy a new model of G-Shock yearly or a couple a year, and now I will have as many Apple Watch as Apple allow me to sync at once.

I won't. I only upgrade my phone every year, can't imagine doing that with a watch.

My primary use of the apple watch is to look at the time. Maybe send 1-2 messages a day. One phone call a week.

Then you really don't need to update.

Im sticking with my 1st gen. Was thinking about upgrading for the increased brightness and more speed. But im fine with my watch, will wait for S3.

Two days ago I bought a brand new Apple Watch 42mm Stainless Steel Series 0 for $300 from Best Buy. Originally had the Series 2 Stainless Steel, but couldn't justify paying twice the price for what I'd be using it for so I returned it. I also would much rather have the sapphire crystal, and stainless steel case, and save $100 opposed to having the new "nice to have" features that come with Aluminum Series 2. Hopefully Series 3 will have more to offer that I could take advantage of.

For anyone complaining about resale value; smart watches won't hold their value like a traditional high end watch. These watches have resale value impacted by technology advances. Don't be surprised if the same thing happens with the Series 1/2 watches next year when Series 3 comes out.
