I have a 5, so I'm off-contract, and given the way the battery is, I'd love to get the 6s, but like a number of you, I'm rather partial to the 4" form. Since it doesn't seem that they are going back to that, I (and my small hands) may have to consider the 'new' size.

I'm undecided still if I'm keeping or selling my 5S when I purchase a 6S. I'm thinking of keeping my 5S and use it as an iPod touch. I sold my iPhone 4 when I bought the 5S. Now I wanna keep the 5S as a back up phone.

Going to see if that 6s gets an extra gig of ram, then I'll decided what happens. Funny how my nearly 3 year old phone still has the same amount of ram as most everyone on this forum. ;)

Intend to keep the 5 even if I upgrade though. Sent from my iPhone 5.

I found out that the battery on my 5s is actually comsumed; so I need a new one. The biggest reason I was not wanting to keep my 5s was the battery; otherwise it is still a great phone. Rather than get the 6s, and get a size that I don't like as much, I'll just pay the $79 to get a battery replacement.

I was thinking that between being off-contract and resale bonus, I might end up paying not so much for a 6s. I'll have to do some more checking, though. Amazon seems to have the best rates.

I realize that much of my dithering is BECAUSE I have options (keep the 5 and get one of those lipstick accessory batteries; keep the 5 and get a new battery, trade the 5 in for a 6s). Can't really complain about that.

In going with the battery replacement route on my iPhone 5s.

My daughter called me yesterday to find out when the next phone is being released cause she didn't think her 5 would last. I asked what was wrong with it...long story short, she had the bad battery issue and Apple replaced it for her. Now she thinks she'll just keep the new 5 since she doesn't like the larger form factor.

Isn't it funny that 3 of us on this thread all need battery replacements on our 5's or 5s's? I think it makes the most sense; if we like this size, may as well stick with it. With a new battery it will be like new anyway!

They wouldn't replace mine :-( But I'm really considering a 10 dollar lipstick battery hub. That would be fine for the times it wouldn't last me a day and I couldn't find an outlet. I, too, like my form factor.

On hers the battery was expanding and forcing the touch screen right out of the bezel. It wasn't a question of the battery not lasting.

Mine does get slightly warm occasionally though.

Mine is warm right now, as I'm charging it. And don't even ask about my Air and heating. But bulging? It's like a Roger Corman movie! If it started bulging and then played horror music as it did so, I'd be outta here.

If there's no updated 4" phone, I"m absolutely sticking with my 5s.

Apple doesn't seem to get it or care that many of us have no desire/need for our mobile device to be as large as the iPhone 6 is.

When she first told me it was happening I thought she was exaggerating. But apparently that was the big bulging reason Apple started the replacement program. Of course, now she's wondering what would have happened if it had exploded. (Probably Apple would have said that they highly publicized the issue and she should have gotten the replacement sooner.)

Whoa that sounds crazy!

Holy cow. No. No, that hasn't happened here.

Whoa.

I got my 5S in March, so I will try to keep it as long as possible. However, I would love a larger screen on my phone... I think 4" is a bit too small. Who knows. I just might get a 6 if 6S is not a significant upgrade

When my iPhone 4's contract ended, I got a Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket. That one had a 4.5 inch screen. It didn't last for more than six months because of how many times I dropped it. Ended up replacing it with a smaller 3.5 inch screen Android phone which I was happy with until Google pushed a Play update that caused issues. So I ended up with a Nokia Lumia 520 that had a 4 inch screen.

So when I got the Lumia, it was apparent that the 4 inch screen was the sweet spot for my hands.

Although when I went back to the iPhone, with the 5S after the contract ran up, I realized at how much nicer Windows Phone was to look at. I do agree that there is a readability issue, but it's not because of the screen size itself, it's because iOS isn't optimized for large print text like Windows Phone is.

I'm definitely keeping my 5S until it breaks though.

My 5 64gb got sold. Wish I still had it, it got replaced by Applecare on the last day of its 2 year warranty! I'm okay with the 6 but still miss my 5. Getting a 6S 4" straight away if it comes out.
