Hiyas, Sodner, what's your plan of attack?

I was also going to head to South Hills Mall early tomorrow morning but really have no idea what, if any, the protocol/etiquette is for lining up outside a mall to get into a line outside a store that hasn't even opened yet.

This will be my first time, "camping" for a device so to speak. Any thoughts or direction would be appreciated.

If you have an apple store that isnt a mall within a reasonable distance, go there instead.

As far as I can tell, at least in the Pittsburgh area, all Apple stores are fortified by malls. With the exception being the Shadyside store which just got robbed this week...I'll pass on that one. ;)

Thanks for the reply however.

My wife did some research on the mallwalkers (not the zombie kind, well, I guess that's debatable) and found that the mall I plan on visiting opens around 7 A.M. I guess I'll just have to drive around to find the throngs of these octogenarian athletes and follow their lead. :D

I just didn't want to get there too late/early and have someone p'd because I wasn't waiting in front of the mall doors since 2 A.M.

Does anyone know for sure there will be a shipment tomorrow? Any at BB also?

No idea, Doandy.

A few calls to the Apple stores today suggested our best bet would be an arrival at the store by 8 A.M.

I also pre-ordered from a BB, but after reading posts about their lack of supply and the possibility that Apple stores will take precedent, I decided not to wait. I did however read that if there is a dedicated Apple section in the BB the chances might be better. But, who knows?

I'm now looking at this whole ordeal as just making some new memories with my wife. :D

My Apple store is in a mall. Not ideal. I mean which door do I line up at? Probably 6 mall entrances which open at 8 for mall walkers. Which doors open first? Do people run to the store? Oh the humanity!!!!!

My malls had automatic doors and opened at 7am for mallwalkers. Some times if you go up to the automatic doors and pull on one side it will open. Also sometimes they only open from the inside so wait for a mallwalker to go by and they will open. Good luck.

So how early are people lining up tomorrow @ the Apple Store?

usually around 5am.Camping at First Colony Mall for 3G model for 2 days . Haven't seen it yet.it was really really hurt when they came out and said "no 3G model today" ...:(

Jeez. And considering that tomorrow is a Saturday, I should probably be there earlier, right? :(

South Hills Village

I called the Apple store yesterday and asked which mall door was the correct one to use for a "line up" and the girl told me the downstairs mail entrance, by Macy's and Sears Auto. Thats where I will be. Makes sense because it is on the same floor and close to the Apple Store.

Headed out soon.

The "line-up" door...

for the Apple store in Menlo Park Mall in Central NJ is the door from the upper parking deck NOT the one near the restaurants Champs and Chipotle'. When you drive up the ramp you see it straight away. Good Luck to all who is in line already.

I got my to 32GB wifi (1 white, 1 black) on launch day. "Whew!" THANK GOD I was able to get mine.

At the Eastview Apple Store near Rochester. 8th in line. I'm glad the mall doors were open!

At Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, MD.

about 8 or 9 in line. Theres a group of asian kids who are all friends occupying the first spots. Must be nice doing this sort of thing in a group. Hopefully they arent scalpers.

I am at the leawood apple store. I got here at about 4:30. There were 10 people in front of me and now about 8 behind me.

Am in the Chicago/Michigan Ave line. At least 30-40 people in front of me. This could be suicide.

At the Mall at Mallinia in Orlando. Got here about 20 minutes ago (6:50) and am about 50th in line. Haven't opened the mall doors yet.

At northbrook court, il, , 46th in line, any word on old orchard?

better than the "OMG JUST GOT SHIPPING CONFIRMATION" thread. Who really wants to read through those? No one. I looked at this thread because I share a similar interest. I'll be on a line tomorrow, on Long Island.

Which store?

I'm number 72 at the 14th St. Store......

any word on shipment numbers and stocking for yours stores yet? Might be helpful to others on the west coast and other places and their expectations.

No word from Montgomery Mall yet... Questing for 32GB Wifi.

Apple Store: Perimeter, GA

Standing in line at the Perimeter store in Atlanta, GA. Probably around 20 people when I got here at 5:40am. They finished handing out tickets probably 15 minutes ago. I snagged a 64GB white WiFi model. Probably around 20 or so (disgruntled) customers were turned away.

They had stock of the 16GB Verizon model in black, and WiFi only 32GB, and 64GB models in white. No 16GB WiFi models at all.
