The people in line are getting restless, hopefully they will start handing out tickets soon...

Keeping my fingers crossed for the model I want!

EDIT:

They just came out and gave out tickets! First an announcement on stock: ONLY wifi model, no 3G, no 16 gigs at all, 32 gig in black/white, and 64 gig in white only. By the time they got to me (tenth in line), the only option left was 64 gig white. A lot of people got turned away - they only got to like #20 before they were out of tickets.

In line at the St Louis Galleria...I'm about 12th in line and there are about 25 behind me. First try at lining up since launch. Problem is we all want AT&T and seems like this location has been getting a handful of them at best (no surprise). Hoping they do some type of ticket system with actual models so I know if it's worth it!

Was in line at the Park City Mall in Lancaster, PA... There were probably 60 people, I was about 20th in line. They opened early at 8 and let in only the first 4 people, then made an announcement that they did not have anymore iPad 2s and didn't expect anymore today. Needless to say, everyone is pissed.

South Hills had 34. 8:21 and still a few left. Was 4th in line, darn multiple mall doors screwed me. Was here first at 5am but security opened a different door first.

FYI..... NO AT&T

Same deal at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda MD. I was 10th in line and they pulled the same crap.

For some reason no apple store seems to have at&t I just gave up and bought a wifi only and placed an online order for the 3G model. you could try target because people on the forum seem to find 3G models their daily.

Strolled into OKC Apple Store (Penn Square) at 7:30 this morning, saw long line of people waiting.

FOR ONCE, someone at the store answered the phone before noon, and informed me he counted fifty people in line at 7:00 am, and there was no way they had that many ipad 2's. Queried him further, and admitted that they hadn't seen any AT&T models since the initial launch. He suggested ordering one off of AT&T online, since they're promising a quicker delivery than Apple.

Wow. I came late to the party with the iPad 1, was it THIS bad when it first came out?

I've been going over pros and cons since the 2 came out, but as for now, I don't think ANY piece of electronic gear is worth this much aggravation.

Apple store, Menlo Park Mall, NJ, line was around 150, they had a whopping 9 iPads!

I'm sick and tired of this non-sense. I doubt it's worth going tomorrow, I don't see how they would get any for Sunday.

Just came back home from UWS store. I got there at 5:50AM. Was on line (number 70-90 I would say) at 8:40 the store manager came and announced they had limited inventory and that all the tickets are already distributed. UGH!!!

It was not. Remember, the iPad1 was released in WiFi only, black only. I went with my wife, stood in a relatively short line enjoying ourselves chatting with our neighbors, then into the store. I bought one, she decided to hold out for the 3G. Four weeks later, the 3G was released, and we returned and bought another. No lines.

Spent 90 minutes online on launch day for the iPad2. No AT&T 3G, no sale, we were done. Launch day lines are fun. Day after day is insane. It's a mass-produced mass-market electronic device. It'll be widely available soon enough, before losing its luster as the rumors start flying about how super-cool the iPad 3 will be.

Same sort of thing with the iPhone4. Huge line on launch day, gave up and left. Walked into the store the next day and walked out with two of the exact model I wanted (one each for my wife and I). No lines, no waiting.

At this point, the only reason for waiting in line in the predawn gloom is if I were impoverished and trying to put bread on my children's plates (or rice in their bowls) via a quick resale to Honest Wu's Electronic Imports and Exports.

I'm sitting on my wallet. If Apple wants my money, they know what they have to do.

Just got my 32 GB black WiFi iPad from the University Park Mall apple store in South Bend, IN. There were about 25 people in line (I was #8 and got the last 32 GB black model). They also had one 64 GB Verizon White model. No AT&T models since launch date.

Was #53 in Michigan Ave line. They Had no At&t models. Had Verizons in 16-64white, and 16 black. Only had 32-64 white wifi. Wanted wifi, but they ran out as I was right near the front windows.

Got there 3hrs early today. May try 4-5 hours tomorrow or next Saturday.

Just got back from the Carlsbad, CA store. There were about 60 people in line. I was #20 arriving at 4:30am. They had 19 iPads today only WiFi and Verizon, so only the first 10 people got a ticket. They told us they could already see in their system that there was not a shipment for later today so no iPads until Tuesday morning.

Update from Park City Mall in Lancaster, PA... Talked to a 'blue-shirt' and he confirmed that if they get a shipment today they will hold them to sell tomorrow morning... Ugh... Looks like I'll be trying again tomorrow...

I'd be pretty surprised if they get a lot of shipments today. Seems like they really made an effort to get as much stock as they could out for this morning... and that's not saying much (each store seems to only have gotten 10-20). However, definitely call later in the day and they'll tell you straight up if they got a shipment today or not. The line I used was, "are you planning on opening early tomorrow morning to sell a new shipment of iPads?"

Just got back from Apple Store at The Domain out here in Austin TX. They only had 32GB wifi's in black and white. No 3Gs whatsoever. The manager also came out to say that the Apple Pop-up store downtown only had wifi's from 16GB-64GB. No 3Gs either. Seems like my best chance for an ATT 3G model is to order from Apple site.

LOL, Good thing I didn't stop and line up. Had to go to the airport to drop off my wife for a business trip to Norway. Came back around 5:30 and drove pass and saw a long line and decided just to go home.

They said Tuesday they'll receive a shipment? I guess I'll line up around 4-5 then if it's true. Just want a AT&T 32GB black but not sure if it's worth the hassle.

The apple store in leawood ks only got 22 and the only 3G models were Verizon. I was able to snag what I was looking for a 16GB Black WIFI. Unfortunately it has the light leak issue that others are reporting. I still am really enjoying and so is my wife. Still very happy with the purchase. Inwaited in line from about 4:30am till 9:10am.

How come no one ever mentions ordering directly from AT&T? I ordered a 16GB Black 3G from them this past Sunday. The site said shipping in 14 - 21 business days. It shipped the next day & I got it Wednesday. The site now says 20 - 25 business days but it doesn't mean it will take that long. I had this same situation with the iPhone 4 last summer. My mother ordered hers through Apple on a Saturday with 2 to 3 week shipping estimate. My brother ordered his on Monday through AT&T & it was there by Friday. My brother-in-law ordered his from AT&T the next week & got it by the end of the week & my mother STILL did not have hers. I think hers came the following week. Anyway, just a suggestion as an alternate place to order online if you want AT&T.

I woke up and got to the mall by 4:30 to find 20 people ahead of me already. I was debating on actually just going home which I probably should have. I stood there and waited for them to open the doors to let us in the mall since it was pretty cold. The front of the line were the same group of Chinese people that have been there literally every morning (mostly very old women). As we are standing there more of their friends supposedly come who were "in the car the whole time waiting and were cold". The crowd got very rowdy by this point.

When the security guard opened the doors to the mall one lady sprinted and got in line in front of the store where there were already 3-4 people (they used the service doors to get into the mall). This little old chinese women who was in the front of the line started grabbing and shoving the women saying she needs to get back to the end of the line (which I guess was true but at the same time they were letting people cut the front of the line all morning). So the security guard actually had the police come.

Two officers arrive started basically shouting at all of us all when in reality it was the front of the line that was causing the problems. They told us we'll be arrested for tresspasing and banned from the mall if we don't act civil and figure out who was first:rolleyes: He said he'd get a bus and lock us all up actually. Totally uncalled for but whatever.

We stood there and waited until finally someone came out at 8:30 and told us what they had. Limited quantities of 32, 64 black and white wifi + the same models in Verizon. As this is happening the group up front start exchanging cash with each other and making sure everyone has cash to pay. They all basically got tickets for a device, by the time it got to about the 15th person it was only Verizon models and finally sold out with 2-3 people (which caused another fight where two guys almost got into it because they were arguing over who was first).

All this for iPads. I've never seen such an immature group of adults. Not going again.

And the manager came out and knows they are buying for resale but she said she can't do anything. They pay cash every time and there is nothing they can do about it. What makes me sad is that the people around me have been coming 3-4 days straight and still can't get one. No matter how early it is, someone gets there first and they let everyone cut them.
