I probably will for the first few days until paranoia kicks in and then I'll get something simple to tide me over until Element gets their Vapor Comps & Pros up and running.

They make screen protectors now that are crystal clear.

They call them HD screen protectors for the retina display.

Instead of having a plastic feel like most protectors they feel like Glass.

Its smooth and it does not have any of that orange peel like texture on the surface.

I would only purchase one of these types for my retina display.

The other ones ruin the quality.

But do they have the oleophobic coating?

Not sure, I have AppleCare+ and loved using my first 4 naked, but then I smashed it. Got a bumper case for the replacement and got used to it very quickly.

Naked for me too!

Although I'll buy a leather belt holster since I don't want to carry it in my pocket and have the oleophobic coating get worn off the screen.

Always hated cases, but last year my 4S got flooded with hairline scratches running it naked for over 6+ months. That's when I called AC an made up a story to get a replacement an got protectors thrown on the front an back. But moral of that story is, I'll be getting a front screenie but I'm on the fence about the back one. Screen protectors can imitate the feel of glass but can't imitate the feel of aluminum like the back of the i5 is, imo a screen protector on the back would ruin the 'feel' of the phone, which I don't want. Hopefully that aluminum an gorilla glass 2 can withstand a phone lying on tables an desks whilst still withstanding a little bit of slide without hairlining the thing up.

I will be naked for most uses . . . When I travel I like a case, but then take it off. Especially with the black accent metal on the 5. I will also get something thin like the Pinlo Slice.

I've had every iPhone made. I put a case on my iPhone 3g and hated every minute of it. My original iPhone did have a couple dings in the aluminum, and I have broken a screen on my 4s, but I have Squaretrade and they took care of it, for $49. I'd rather spend $50 on a new phone than $30 on a case that I hate every day of my life.

Call me naive, but I'm always surprised when people are so casual about insurance fraud.

No way
Want mine spotless for resale and to satisfy My OCD
Im getting either a slim case or bodyguardz for the back
Tossing in a bookbook for good measure

But do they have the oleophobic coating?

Yes if you buy from a good company that adds it.

You have to research the product.

Also, you can buy glass to put on your screen. Not Plastic but a real layer of glass that has a coating.

Question on SquareTrade -

I see a bunch of people tout SquareTrade, but after looking at their website, it appears that the full value they offer is up to the purchase price of your item

"The value of your Care Plan is in most cases equal to the purchase price of your item."

If I pay $200 for a subsidized iPhone 5 and drop it in a year, don't I have to pay the full, unsubsidized, value for the phone at around $650?

With the SquareTrade plan costing $100 then the max value I could get by submitting a claim would be $100 ($200 purchase price of phone - $100 purchase price of SquareTrade).

Am I missing something here or does this not seem like all that great a deal?

If you drop it, you take it to the Apple store who will offer you a replacement for $199, regardless of model or size. Squaretrade will reimburse you $150 of that. You have a $49 deductible.

Are you upset about Apple not offering a bumper for the iPhone 5?

When Vaja comes out with an iVo Top that fits the 5, I'll grab one of those. I've had one on my 3GS for 2 years that has served me very well - in and out of my pockets every day and sometimes under my head as I sleep... kept the 3GS in mint condition. Not a scratch or ding anywhere, and such a great design.

Yes, like all my previous iPhones, my iPhone 5 will be much like this cupcake:

I've been sans screen protector since retina.

Can't skip the case. I hate scratches and dings.

I just use a back 'screen' protector and nothing on the front.

Can anyone link me to a back protector for the 5 ? I've been on ebay but i'm not sure that ordering from a china company that hasn't had the phone is a good idea.

I be free ballin'!!! :D lol, nah, i put a clear case with a good screen protector, i dont want to be suffering if it get hit or scratch :p

Are you upset about Apple not offering a bumper for the iPhone 5?

Yeah, to some degree I am. I'm hoping the make something like it. If not someone might step up and hopefully hake something with the same level of polish (metal colored buttons and such). It gave just enough protection to keep me from feeling like I had to baby my phone.

ordered a bumper already.. when you've seen what a dropped smashed iphone looks like 1st hand a bumper preventing that is well worth it..

and i like the feel and look of the bumper on my 4s..so 5 will be no different
