My luck hasn't been great with the iPhone 4 or 4S, either. I had the Galaxy Note for a few months as part of a review assignment, and I never put anything on that phone. If the iPhone 5 glass is really Corning Gorilla Glass 2, which is what was on the Galaxy Note, then nothing is going to scratch it, so I'm not planning on putting a case on the 5. Believe me, that note was put through all kinds of mistreatment and torture (accidental, not on purpose) and it never got even a knick. My iPhone 4S has at least three scratches on the front and back.

Wait the new iPhone 5 is rumored to be using gorilla glass?

Despite making many of the ports smaller, I will not be going naked with the iPhone5. The ports are still to big for me.

Question: I plan on getting applecare+ and i know it has 2 replacement with $50 deductibles. And thats incase u mess up your phone. My question is if i can pay the deductible and get a new phone even if its not wrecked. like just a couple scratches. Just curious.. it would help resale if right before i sold it i went in, paid the $50 and got a nice fresh one:D

I think your over estimating how much it is going to help your resale value. IIRC difference between a like new iP 4 and one in good condition was only $40 on Amazon TradeIn.

Going naked with my black iPhone 5. It is just too beautiful to cover up. First iPhone I've ever done this with. But I have purchased Applecare+ just in case I drop it.

I was going naked like I did with my 4s but I think I'll go with a case this time around. Sure, a case takes away from the beautiful design, but so do scratches..

So I asked apple and their exact answer was, "Sure, that's fine. But you might as well get the satisfaction of smashing it against a wall or something since your gonna pay $50 anyway

Been going without a case.. personally I feel it detracts from the look of the phone. I've always been careful of my gadgets and are properly maintained. I had an iPhone 4 two years ago, bought a few cases and bumpers and eventually got fed up with it and been going without a case ever since.

YMMV

AppleCare+ and that's it for me. This is a work of art and will be treated as such.

Same here. I've spend way more than the $99 in the past on cases for my 4/4S and after a couple weeks stopped using them. I love the look of the iPhone 5, best looking phone so far in my opinion, so I don't want anything covering up the design.

Close to naked, I guess. I didn't want those bulky cases that hide the back. The case is a 'Gel' type one that does not hurt the phone.

Oh and I also have a screen protector which I installed myself flawlessly..hehe..

I got a Casecrown from recommendation of a poster on here. Only $15 after shipping on Amazon, pretty good for a hard slider case. It saved my phone this morning. Took it's first fall onto concrete, and got a scuff on the corner, which would have been the aluminum! It would've been ugly.

Oh and my "screen protector" is just the stock plastic film that was on the phone out of the box. I just cut out a slit for the earpiece. Pressing down on the home button is annoying but I'm just waiting on my InvisibleShield HD or my cheap chinese screen protectors to come in the mail and this thing comes off.

Still going completely naked. I'm debating getting AppleCare+ just in case, but I honestly hate buying protection plans. When I buy them I never need them, and on rare occasions when I do need them, I didn't buy it. It's always a lose-lose situation for me. I hate throwing money away. But in this case I may get it just so I can get the satisfaction of smashing it against a wall as noted by macness.

Edit: why do people post their cases in this thread? I thought the whole point of this was to see who is not using a case?
