Who's sticking with their current iPhone for another year?

I will keep my iPhone 5S 16GB. There are no new technical features, that are important to me.

I rarely use my creditcard and know no German shop with this NFC Payment. WiFi calling and VoLTE sound not bad, but at least the last one has to be supported by the local carrier.

Must see the iPhone 6 live, but I think I will stick with the 5S.

I will be sticking with my 5S until I at least get to see, hold, touch, feel the new ones. I don't know how anyone can spend $640 to $950 without actually seeing the device in person. Blind devotion, I guess.

The iPhone 6 looks very nice and if I needed to get a new phone I would surely buy one.

I'm also glad the 64GB model has been replaced with a 128GB model at the same price.

However, I guess it's still not enough for me. My 32GB iPhone 4 does everything I need, I'll put off spending 900€ until next year.

What about everyone else?

iPhone 4 i would get anxiety attacks even using that or touching something like that. Even an iPhone 5. Yeah I am sick but this thread just gave me chills.

I am buying the 64GB iPhone 6 Plus. Im out of this weird thread. Iphone 4 is ancient...i feel uncomfortable now and my anxiety levels are raising.

I think I'll be waiting till the 6S next year. I haven't my 5S for a year yet and thre is nothing on the new phone that is a must have,

I will get the watch when it is released.

I'm on the fence to be perfectly honest. I like my 5c and I'm trying to see if its worth spending the 299/399 for the plus,

I guess I'll stick with my iPhone 5 for another year, but I don't think I'll be able to keep it for two more years to wait iPhone 7 so next year I'll have to chose between 4.7 and 5.5, just hoping 6S will get OIS and better specs...

I'm retiring my 4S and getting the 6. The 4S has had a good run, but I'm getting sick of 3G congestion and want 4G :)

I'm staying with my 5s for another year, not for any reason other than that is when my contract is up and I am eligible for a subsidized upgrade.

If their pricing and storage space model from yesterday remains the same, I'll probably go for the 64GB, 4.7" model.

I'm a bit dismayed that they kept the 16GB model and eliminated the 32GB model. I feel 32GB should be the new minimum.

I thought I needed a 32GB phone when going to the 5C. I'm not using much of the space and I can easily see myself in the 16GB model.

My wife on the other hand needs at least 32GB

I've always been good with the minimum storage option. But this last time I bought a 32GB iPhone and a 16GB iPad. I've run out of space a few times on the iPad and had to clear some stuff out. So far with the iPhone, all is well.

Sticking with my 5S.

Don't want a larger screen.
Already have TouchID and 4G.
Apple Pay won't come to the UK any time soon
The performance gains in CPU and GPU are quite small; the biggest leaps came in 5 -> 5S.

Quite happy to wait and see what next year brings.. oh, and save myself £539/619/699 !

My iPhone 5 was replaced by Apple when it was a year old. It is important to me only as a phone, and for the very few occasions when I don't carry an iPad or my MacBook. I will not upgrade it until it dies or, if it lives that long, until some time after it is no longer supported.

iPads are what I use most and even the bigger new phone could not replace them.

I'm thinking of waiting for the refresh. iOS 8 is more important than new hardware.

I'm on the 5s, and I think I'm going to stay. I at least want to use both sizes in my own hands before I consider getting one or the other.

Staying with my 5S till next September, due to contract.

Really there's no reason to upgrade each year unless you have $ to burn or the ability to sell your iPhone for mucho grande to offset the cost of having to buy a full priced phone. Or, if you really just want the latest features.

Apple Pay may be reason enough for many to upgrade. It sparks my interest, but I think I can hold tight for a year, rationalizing to myself that it needs time to mature and spread out more.

I'm basically in the same situation as you. Same reasons and everything. I plan to get the Apple Watch so that solves the Apple Pay problem.

Another one of those "I'm justifying my older iPhone" threads because you might find something wrong with the newer one or the older one is enough for you. The 5s or anything before it is old news now. It isn't the premier flagship. Every year, technology improves. But every year, a thread like this emerges just for posters wanting to feel some reassurance for their outdated iPhone.

I sold my iPhone 4s a couple of weeks ago as I am planning to buy this new iphone. Will there be much difference on the camera, it still the same 8mg :(

i have a 2 year old iPhone 5, the Mrs wants an Apple Watch, but only has an iPhone 4S, so I get the 6+, she gets my old 5, and can later get the Apple Watch.

So no, I'm upgrading :)
