Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't the S2 significantly larger than the iPhone 4? If the iPhone 5 is larger, i think it'll be the same size as the S2 or a bit smaller.

It's slightly thicker, and it doesn't seem that much larger to me. Maybe in the hand it would make a difference but after a few days it would be an easy adjustment.

Is it me or are Android app icons horrendously pixelated and boxy.

That would depend on the phones resolution, as well as if it was running something like Sense or Motoblur. Android Icons seem slightly less defined than iOS one, but nothing not in a terribly noticeable way.

I will get it on release whatever it is... It will be amazing we know!

I'm in uk so 4g isn't here until 2013 anyway so if it didn't have 4g that'd be fine for us Brits!

No, but I am curious what Apple has in store this September especially if they plan to sell the 3GS for $350 unlocked. Once they set the price, everybody follows which brings cost down. Many Americans are in financial straits and the prepaid market is growing in the U.S. which actually dominates many other countries in the world. This also sets the motion of taking out the iPod touch and replacing it with an unlocked iPhone 3GS with no contract. Attack different segments. Tired of paying $500 for a smartphone (more than a PS3 and as much as some HDTV's). Would love to see more unlocked smartphones under $200 that isn't made by Huawei or a cheap Samsung, LG, or Nokia with a resistive touchscreen and laggy OS.

Apple to sell contract-free, $350 iPhone 3GS

Hi

I purchased my iPhone 4 after using Nokia phones for 25 years + and I can't see myself switching back even with the eventual release of the wp7.

If the iPhone 5 brings more to the table that interests me then I will buy it and if not then I'm more than happy with the 4 at the moment.

Bring on Ios 5 !

Yeah but one of the reasons I want an iPhone 5 is due to me hoping it has around the same form factor as the 4. If it doesn't then I'm really going to be forced to get quite a large phone and I suppose I would prefer the Galaxy S2. Hopefully the iPhone 5 isn't that large though and I'll get it. ;)

I bought my 3Gs in November 2009 thus my contract should run out shortly after the release of iPhone 5 which is perfect for me. :) I don't know about America, but the German Telekom allows you to switch to a new contract i.e. a new iPhone if you pay a decent fee (I think it's 25€) for every month of contract that you've left.

I love my 3Gs but after 2 years, it starts to feel a bit geriatric. Also I'll be moving out from my parents soon and it would be really nice to have FaceTime capability in order to hold contact with them. It's so easy to use, even my mother understands how it works! :D :D

Welp I'm going to sell my white iPhone at the beginning of September and just use my old 3g until the next iPhone comes out, I pretty much have to get it then.

You better hope it's going to be that much better than than the 4 to go through all that trouble and hassle

I'm getting the iPhone 5 regardless of what it is. That's the life of a developer.

You are aware that's a Galaxy S in your picture. It's not a Galaxy S2 (which is quite a bit bigger).

I've been on my 32GB 3GS since launch day in 09 and I've been itching to upgrade since last year, but skipped the 4 for various reasons. I'll definitely be upgrading to the new iPhone. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that, design-wise, it's not too much like the 4.

If the iPhone 5 is 4G and my unlimited data plan is grandfathered, then I will switch. But if it's not 4G, there's no reason to upgrade. I doubt it will have a bigger screen and my 1Ghz single core is still plenty for any apps out there.

I can't wait to get rid of my 3gs. I just need some new features. I dislike the 4 though.

I need to upgrade. My 3GS is acting goofy but it still does what I need so who knows.

I need a smartphone but I'm friggen sick of the bill/cost and all that mess. Whaddyado? If the 5 is nice, I'll get it. If not, I'll grab a 32gig 4 or swap my wife's and upgrade her.

It doesn't matter what the iPhone 5 is, I will be standing in line on opening day with cash in hand.

Even if Apple decided to only release it with a purple back with a bright green bezel, I'd still be there.

OP... you're setting yourself up for possible disaster.

I went from a 3GS to three other high-end Android phones and had terrible experiences. I recently came back to an iPhone 4 and it was the best decision I've made in awhile. Seriously, "change" isn't a good enough reason.

Especially because you aren't the kind of person to buy/change phones often. You're screwing yourself if something goes wrong.

Having a phone that works is hopefully important to you. Buy an Android phone and I'd bet you're gonna regret it. Honestly, I think you will. I'm talking from personal experience here man.

Others will probably disagree, but I'm just letting you know what I know...

I currently have an iPhone 4 and if half the rumours I'm hearing about the 5 are true i'd upgrade in a heartbeat! IF i wasn't getting married next may and didn't have to spent a few grand on flowers and crap!

Only because I'm finding the 4 sluggish and would like 32 gigs this time around.
