If the design has changed, I will certainly be switching. I will assume there will be the usual spec upgrade, but that won't be enough if it's in the same shell.

Switching from AT&T to Verizon so I will be getting whatever the iPhone 5 is. New contracts and all.

I have an iPhone 4 as well as an HTC Inspire 4G.

Heres what I want to do:
- Sell my phone for $100 over what its resale value is
- Buy the iPhone 5
- All on day 1

What will happen:
- Ill rape the refresh button during the Keynote event
- After which, Ill obsess over the new features and design, regardless of what they are
- Ill want to buy it, but am **** broke, even if I sell the phone for ^700. So it isnt an option
- Spiral into deep depression, as the sound track "Lonely" plays

LOL take it easy now, it's just a phone x)

I'll be switching to the iPhone 5 without a doubt. I got the 3GS the first month it came out, the iPhone 4 the first month, and the same will go for the iPhone 5.

I'm not one to indulge myself; I'm actually rather frugal. When it comes to the iPhone, however, I'm all about the upgrade.

I had the first 3 iPhones..then switched to android and realized how dumb I was for using iPhones all that time. But..then I realized that there is no android device that has battery life even close to the iPhone..this is a big issue for me..so I will likely be switching to the new one..ugh.

I'm getting a 5 no matter what. Sold my 4 for $450, going to pay $200 out of pocket for an unlocked 5 (i'm still under contract with AT&T till Feb 2011). Then next summer i'll sell my 5 for $400-$500, and use that money to buy a 6 on contract for $250 and pocket the difference.

Technically you could repeat this process every summer and always have the newest phone with nothing out of pocket except for the first time you do it (assuming you have a good backup for that month between the sale of the phone and the next phone release, I have a Samsung Captivate backup).

This is what I do...I sold a 3G for $215 and bought my i4 for $150. I plan to sell it when the i5 comes out and buy it. Good thing is my mom has a contract to, so I use both to buy my iPhones and she is happy with her RazR so I just got to buy her a couple back-ups and I will get the discount every time:D

I hope the i5 is worth the upgrade though...If it is just faster or something stupid I will keep the i4, but I think they will make it just enough to get buyers on board. BTW, why do without a phone to buy a phone, just pay the money for the phone and then recollect it when you make the sale later.

I can relate. I have the 3G, 3GS and the 4 since they were out. Same goes for the iPhone 5.

I am going to be switching a SGS2 or maybe holdout for the Nexus Prime if it hits before Thanksgiving.

I am not switching because I think anything is superior to iPhone but more because I just want a change. I doubt I'd switch back to iPhone until the next iPhone because I'm not one to switch phones often. I keep what I get and stick with it for at least a year.

Apple makes a great phone but so does Samsung. Either one will make me happy but I'm ready to try something else.

The SGS2 is a great phone, but I still wouldn't get it. Just something about Android I don't like, I'm not a huge fan of its cluttered interface, I don't care about Flash on a phone really (on a tablet maybe, but a phone, no) and I don't really like the build of it - it feels cheap. I tried one and while its nice, I just really think the iPhone 4 is designed really well in terms of aesthetics. If Samsung released a phone made out of metal (and perhaps glass, not too sure if I like that about the iPhone) which was a bit cheaper I'd definitely consider it, but otherwise, no deal.

That said, not getting the iPhone 5 either. The iPhone 4 is the best phone I've ever owned, I really don't need to upgrade at the moment.

still deciding whether to jump on over from a Droid X or not?

every other piece of tech I use is Apple..

I'm going to pass on this one. Even though it's early, I've got enough credible info to convince me the A6 chip will be a significant improvement. Not just in speed or any single area. It's actually expected to be a quantum leap in a number of benchmarks. Therefore I'll pass on the short product cycle of the 5, and plan on buying the 6.

I really can't see Apple making a phone that won't appeal to me in some way so i will be upgrading. Apart from getting a new handset i usually make some cash when it comes to getting the new phone becuase of the sale of my old handset compared to the relatively small price of the upgrade :)

Eh, I know.

I'd love to find an iPhone 4 moderately priced bc I cannot justify paying a ton for a 4 w iPhone 5 on the horizon.

I'm almost positive I'd love it - any ideas on where to find one?

I will most likely dump my htc incredible and get the iphone 5.
tried an iphone in the apple store in one hand and my inc in my other hand and put in the same web address. iphone much faster.

yes im most likely going to get it, especially if the camera gets better.. MAN that would be totally awesome.

besides, i like having new apple stuff in my room ;-)

I'll be going from a 3Gs to the 5 when it comes out. My "switch" will be from AT$T to Verizon. I don't give a damn about simultaneous voice/data. I want calls that don't constantly drop, and voicemails that don't come in HOURS after they were left for me. I want my phone to RING when someone calls.

AT$T sucks. The execs are all too busy counting cash instead of sinking said cash into updating their pitiful network.
