Oh look, it's another thread made by somebody who is afraid that somebody out there in this world disagrees with them. Insecurity, it's called.

My Opinion on this is

People that say they will never buy an Ipad are POOR same with any mac product.

Myself would love an 27" I-mac but can't afford the $2000 right now

So I know all the **** talk is just POOR people talking:rolleyes:

As far as I can tell there are several types of folks out there who routinely cruise these forums throwing out negative comments....

1) The Killjoy - can't stand to see anyone enjoying something that they don't own so they try to "diss" the product. Happiest when everyone else...isn't.

2) Mr Do It Yourself - You know the type, he builds his own computers, he wants maximum flexibility, and he can't stand being "steered like the "herd" into doing things the Apple Way....no way.. .no how...not me!!!!

3) Corporate Assassin - Yes, other companies actually pay people to take competitors products down a notch (Apple probably does it too...it is a corporation thing)

4) Never Happy - some people just like to whine. No matter what you give them it is never good enough or doesn't do exactly what they want it to. But the iPad doesn't.....

5) Blue Meanie - some people are just nasty and mean and hiding behind an alias affords them to ability to be who they really are

6) Smug B@stard - similar to 4) but with the added twist that they like to throw technical terms around and make it sound like every post made by others is made by a drooling neanderthal (usually low self esteem at root of problem). Never responds to folks who they perceive as having more knowledge than themselves.

7) Tidy Organizer - categorizes everything in terms of existing products only. When something comes along that does not fall into existing category, gets defensive and aggressive (e.g. "but I can't run Photoshop on it", "its not a laptop", etc.)

8) The Fixer - thinks that their great idea will be incorporated into next version of iPad. Well maybe if it is truly a "great idea" AND Apple actually reads these forums..

9) Other Side Fanboys - Just like we defend Apple, they defend and attack from the "other side" (MS, Droid, Adobe, Flash, etc.). If paid....see 1)

10) Windbag - writes long winded sophomoric psychology tinged rants......oops....that's me.
:D

like you i think the above post about the diff types of people who hate the ipad is pretty spot on about some of the reason why they hate the apple and apple products ..

as my one friend put it to a group of us as we where rideing the bus back to the liveing area after work and we where talking about the socalled future of the personal computer device in the comeing years ..he basically said Steve Jobs and Apple get it about what people want in a computer or a device that they use simple to use and not hard to figure out how it will fit in there lifes..the rest of the world is trying to play catch up with that way of thinking about the how and the way of a electronic devices that are out there ..

i want to add this i did not buy the Ipad because it was the coolest thing around i bought it for it has a large enough screen to be able to see something without have to put on the reading glass to see the item like on a iphone screen along with this way of thinking.. it meets my basic needs and iam found that it meets them and goes beyond it at times for a device that does at times when iam useing it ..

For work on the go, I have my laptop.
For gaming/browsing, I have my computer.
For light browsing/phone calls, I have my iPhone.

Personally, I don't see any need for an iPad. It can't do everything a computer can do and the things that it can do, it does slower. It's too big for me to carry around when I go places when I can simply carry my laptop.

When someone tells me they don't like, or don't understand the idea of the iPad the first thing I do is ask them if they have had a go on one, 90% of the time the answer is no.
It really one of those devices that you have to have a go on to really understand what it is and what it is really capable of.

Are you being serious?

Honestly, I would say, it's more the Attitude of some Apple Fan Boys that probably annoys most people than Apple products.

If you were in an office with a guy who always thought his car was better than everyone else's and sneered at people who did not have his car.
Rubbished everyone else's car, and always said his car was perfect and the fact that his car does not do what some other cars did was because those features were stupid and he did not want them anyway.

Then rounded it all off by saying that everyone else was only jealous of him as they could not afford the car he had.

How many people would he irritate and actually never want to own the same car he does.

As I say, honestly, a lot of the time it's the attitude of a amount of Apple Fan Boys that cause the negative feelings than the actual products themselves.

I thought for the longer time that I would never get an ipad because of it's limited functionality.

I bought my 5 year old son a netbook 2 months ago and it's sucked, and my son could not use it. After 2 weeks I returned it and got a used 64 GB ipad for 450 $ cad.

my 2 year old, my 5 year old and I use the iPad every day. It does not do everything a laptop does but it has it's purpose. For reading news on my couch I prefer the ipad over my 11.6" air any day of the week.

I do think it is a toy, and if it where not for my kids I would not have tried it. Now that I like it, I'm going to want ipad 2.

In 5 years there will be no laptops, ipads with wireless KB ad track pad accessories will replace all the macbook pro3. For a gen 1 product I think apple did a great job, beats my 100 kilogram laptop that I bought 15 years ago.

I can afford an iPad easily. I have played with one and I still think its not a great product.

Ever since the Keynote, I've been disappointed by Apple's lack of amazing first party software on it. There was no killer-app on it. Yes, there is an App Store but I hate to think Apple couldn't come up with a few magically apps themselves.

It's just like when you buy your first Mac. Yes, there are photo-album apps, music creation apps, and movie editing apps I can buy - BUT, I'm glad Apple included the useful iLife suite onto my Mac as I feel that I'm not being nickel and dimed or have to search a 1,000 apps.

Also, it's a supplemental product and not a 'necessity' - it doesn't add anything if you have a phone & laptop. If I don't want to carry any bags or anything with me, I can keep my iPhone in my pocket and still do most of what the iPad has to offer. Also, if I was going to carry around a bag, why wouldn't just bring my MacBook? My MacBook can videochat, download files outside of iTunes, and have more than one window open at a time.

It's not a horrible device if you got it as a gift, but with people being more minimalist with their electronics, I can easily see hate for the iPad.

wow..a voice of reason and prepare to be flamed.

I have the iPad and wince when i hear people say it's just a very big iPod touch...not because I think they are jealous, but deep down i know they are *right*. I like my iPad, but not delusional enough to think it's something that is beyond any sort of negative critique that people on these forums have elevated a very a mediocre and average product into.

as a photographer, I use my iPad to show photos to my clients and prospective clients. criticise the fact that the ipad simply won't allow you to order photos in a sequence of YOUR choosing makes you a hater of the product . go figure.

I had a friend that said convince me that it's not a big iPod Touch. At that point I realized. I really don't care what other people think. I love my iPad. That's all that really matters. I really don't care at all what other people think. Their loss not ours. In fact because of people like that we don't have the virus, malware, etc problems that Windows has. God bless them. WIthout them we'd have huge problems! Enjoy all of your Apple devices!:apple::D

it's probably because with hand on heart, you wouldn't be able to convince him. but the big screen is awesome :)

I think the reason many people hate the iPad is because they don't own one and that accepting it somehow invalidates their purchase. By saying you like it or think it's useful doesn't mean you have to own it or whatever device you choose for your purposes is somehow less than adequate.

Demonizing it because you don't have it, can't afford to own it, or it's just not practical for you is immature and shows how selfish and self-absorbed people have become.

For sure. Hating it because you don't own or have never used an iPad is not reason to demonize it, but I have never met anyone who dosent own a MacBook pro slate a MacBook pro ever.

I find the iPad fun to use and enjoy the big screen. I don't demonize it but at the same time this machine clearly offers nothing new nor magical. It is in no way beyond the realms of negative comments that seem to distress apple fan boys so much, though.

Did I read that right, or did you write that right?

You are actually saying and I quote:

"but I have never met anyone who dosent own a MacBook pro slate a MacBook pro ever."

i don't even understand why some people hate apple. apple m,akes some awesome products, so why hate them. the only thing i don't like is that they are bringin new versions of their products out every year making your older products out of date.
