Out of curiousity/boredom I was looking through the Old Skool forum, noticing that many members who been here for a long time such as jefhatfield and tazo are signed in as Guests...

Hmm, I dunno if there's just been a little crack-up with the titles. I remember lilstewart being "banned" for a day or two...

People can have short-term bans

And since jefhatfield no longer appears in the members list, I really think that he's asked to have his membership deleted. It's a shame and I hope that whatever he's doing now, he's having fun and success doing it.

Damn, all teh Old Skoolers are gone soon. Anyways, how can people have short term bans? Bad behaviour, or arn just felt evil that night?:D

(I'm in for a short term ban...)

It's kind of like a timeout/warning before a permanent ban takes place. For instance, macgeek2005 was banned for a short time, and since his behavior didn't improve, he was later banned permanently.

I had a one day ban for a bad comment to another member.

Just replace the 1 at the end of the URL with 2 and then 3 and so on to increase your way through history.

Thanks for figuring out who the oldest member was SilentPanda. :)

But I hope that you don't get in trouble with Doctor Q for telling us, you know that statistics, figures, facts, etc..., are his job. ;) :D

Arn is the obvious anwser since its his site he is of course gonna be the oldest, If you want oldest normal active member I beleve its Blakespot

hmm well then the next active name on the list is, kainjow

wait scratch that, curmi is next in line

I'm confused. To be logged in and have the status of guest means that the member has navigated to MR and put in his/her log in info, and can post, but it hjust says guest? why would it just say guest? why wouldnt it say the 68... whatever thing. What exactly does the guest status do to a member, and how does one acquire that status?

Sad the old chaps are leaving. It is actually quite interesting looking in the Old Skool forum. Give it a try, pause your spammingspree, and learn from the elders...:p

Anyways, I found the first post (which was by arn). The second is a newbie who made 2 posts!:D

who's the oldest original member left?
I'm not here to toot my own horn, but I know that I'm one of the oldest active members of the board. My member number is 540 and I registered almost 6 years ago...

But it is sad to see those people go. They've been dropping out here and there over the past few years. Hopefully the rest of us can step up to the plate. I usually only get a chance to post frequently during the summer months. I know a few of the older members have moved on to different careers, or had other life events that have affected their time on MR. Again, as Applespider said, I hope all is well with them.
