(Actually, the troll we have is less than a foot tall, and the TV isn't very big either.)
Then those must be incredibly small people walking in front of it....

MacRumors began February 24, 2000. I think the vBulletin version started April 9, 2001.

Was that about the time when the whole Rumor community around Apple started? Do you know about a Apple Rumor community before 2000?

Cheers

I believe that ThinkSecret showed up around '99. MacNN is even older...I wouldn't classify it primarily as a "rumor community," but they do discuss them there.

Hmm. These days ThinkSecret looks to me mostly like a rumors site. Was that different back then?

Sorry...TS is and always has been a rumor site.

MacNN is the one I was referring to when I said it's not strictly a rumor community.

ThinkSecret's website used to have a black background with orange text. They covered mostly rumours even back then, and I found their stories interesting.

Appleinsider was closely affliated with MacNN back in the day and they discussed topics that would have never have come up on MacNN.

TS used to be spot on with every rumor they ever published. Now I can't even remember the last time they published an independent rumor.

Both of those sites back around 2001-2002 looked a lot different than they do now.
