I'm definitely in the nice gesture camp. I've been at away games where 600 County fans have outsung 10000 home supporters and really made a difference to the result. My registration neighbors each have 1 post. But of course the one who registered right after me (later the same day) hasn't been a member as long as I have and therefore wouldn't be expected to have as many posts as I do.
