actually, if you’ve spent any time in high-end fashion boutiques, you will understand that colors are important.
That's true, I don't frequent "high-end fashion boutiques." I do live in a fairly urban area though (Tokyo counts as urban, I suppose) and I don't recall ever seeing businessmen in any area here (Ginza, Omotosando, Roppongi, Azabu, etc) wearing brightly colored suits. If the question is why Apple doesn't offer playfully colored "Pro" phones, I think that might be the answer right there. ;)

Apple got a lot of criticism last year for making the finish on the Xr much worse and cheaper looking than Xs. This year, instead of improving the finish on the 11 so there's less disparity they, instead, worsened the 11 Pro finish.

2018 typical complaint: Xr finish looks terrible relative to Xs for a $749 starting phone.
2019 typical complement: 11 finish isn't bad compared to 11 Pro and it's $50 less than last year.

So, Apple managed to fix a common complaint without incurring additional cost and may have even profited more from cost reduction.

11 replace XR

even apple give me free xr or 11 i dont bother it - cauze is not pro phone

that why apple make 2 kind

1 for cheap
1 for high class user

Pro
Lol, well I’m happy to be trading my “high class” Xs max for an 11. Guess high class isn’t for everyone :D:p

i’m going to get the midnight green since camera trumps color for me.

That kind of understated green has always been my favorite color, a bonus for me it is on the phone model I wanted.

I can't imagine myself judging someone's professionalism on the color of their cell phone, but I guess that's just me.

I can, however, imagine myself judging someone's professionalism on their judgment of others based on the color of their cell phone.
Totally agree. Just like all the threads asking if a particular color is masculine enough, etc - just get whatever color you like! No one cares.

I do wish Apple made the iPhone 11 Pro available in more colors, but at the same time, it's not hard to understand why they didn't.

i like the benefits of the new triple camera system, but i wish the "pro" phones came in the cool colors of the regular 11. why does apple make us choose?

Meh. They're "Pastel" colors (except for the bright red which is a special "Product RED" color). IIRC…. Apple has had at least 1 or 2 previous "pastel phases" in its hardware history.

Midnight green all the way! I’ve only had my XS Max for 5 months and the new color is VERY tempting.

because pro buyers are more professional and see the phone as a tool
non-pro buyers are students or folk for whom a phone is just an accessory, and they require more ways for it to be fun!!

LOL

The RDF is still working as intended if “Pro” is being interpreted as anything more than a marketing tool.

Some people might find them boring. I find them classy.
Some people find the crayola color palette of the 11 fun, and while they are, they don't represent the kinds of colors many of us want on our phone.
Which is why I would opt for the black iPhone 11. It’s nothing to do with the model here, but you can get classy or boring colours on each model across the range. At least the iPhone 11 offers more options and is probably why it’s the most sort after of the three.

Exactly. It’s all personal preference.

I would also venture to say that most of the people who are buying the 11 Pro likely feel this way and prefer the classic, muted metallic colors, while people who prefer the 11 probably also prefer the vivid, pastel colors that they come in.
What about the people who just buy the black or white iPhone 11? It’s not all about the colourful devices with that phone. People are buying phones purely for what colour they cone in, it’s about what they offer too.

Those stereotypes didn’t seem to apply to the XR though as it seemed to appeal to just about every demographic society could throw at it. Even the wealthy bought the XR.

I agree. And the idea that the wealthy and/or professional person requires boring colours and has a dull personality is rather out of date. A friend of mine has a bright yellow Lamborghini. His business seems to be doing rather well.

I also find it odd that you can buy a “boring” coloured iPhone Pro but still be able to cover it in a “amateur” brightly coloured Apple case. And for the “amateur” brightly coloured iPhone 11 apple only sell “Pro” coloured black and silicon cases. Well, apart from a clear case.

No problem. The Pro Clementine Apple silicon case is a perfect match for the professional on the left.

I'm guessing the OP has never set foot in a store that sells halfway decent suits. Not exactly popping with bright colors, most suits. You know, like professionals tend to wear. Just sayin
Terry Crews would beg to differ. Just sayin ;)

I'm indifferent either way. I tend to only ever buy it in the black/space grey options but I guess for those who like them Apple sell those (fairly expensive) cases in a range of colours.

I prefer my phone naked though.

Maybe I missed it last year, but didn't realize there was criticism for the XR in that regard. Wasn't the finish (glass back) the same as the XS? Or are we talking about aluminum vs steel?

The premium iPhone's will always have more muted & professional (no pun intended) looking colours.

The pastel colours are well suited to the cheap mass market models as they are the iPhone model for everyone.

The premium phones will be used by those of us who work in the office for a living and/or visit clients, so the phone needs to look reasonably professional & business orientated. I think Apple are onto a winner with the green as it jazzes it up a bit whilst still looking the absolute t*ts.

I would fall under this category (working in an office environment, meeting clients, also in a medical environment). I completely disagree that my phone needs to look "professional and business oriented". Heck, my past few cars have been very bright blue and bright red in colour.

You don't drive your car into a business meeting though, do you?

Nothing wrong with having a device that a fancy colour of course. Just looks out of place in a professional environment.

Company provided phones in professional industries are usually always conservative looking and not, for example, fruity neon colored. Personal device is a different story since employers usually have no say.
