Dude, did you actually think I expected and wanted all of that stuff.
I was just stated what was expected to be released.

That's irrelevant - my comments are just as valid no matter who had the expectation.

He doesn't think it's fair to put a little pressure on the company he gets his 10+k computing equipment from

If you really want to get your thoughts known to Apple, they have a feedback section on their website. While they undoubtedly do have people who look at rumour sites etc., if you think that posting in discussions on here is going to have as much weight as direct feedback via the Apple site I'd pretty much guarantee you're mistaken.

Apple never told us they PLANNED to release these at MacWorld. With the hardware stuff from Intel coming, and all of the "rumors" it will definitely be soon. Apple is getting away from MacWorld to release the stuff on their own timetables... I think the complaints would be justified if it were Apple Fools Day and Apple sent out invitations to the media that said, "And now we run Snow Leopard on the desktops!"

Apple never tells when things are coming out but all those things I mentioned are LONG overdue. Macworld was the perfect time to address these issues and they fumbled. Yeah they threw the consumers a bone by showing they are still working on new hardware. But to tackle the 17" MBP out of everything else? That was a bad move and what has everyone upset.

I agree, and I do use the feedback section.
Also post on the Apple boards etc. .

But don't forget about all the people working at Apple; if an issue comes up frequently on the major message boards, and is heatedly discussed, don't you think some of those fellows, if not the majority of them, will take notice ?

Glossy screens, MBP hinges, screen quality, Firewire, OS bloating - beat it to death, then beat it some more ! ;)

I'm hoping that the withdrawal from these shows allows Apple more flexibility and they roll out stuff continuously over the year...

I definitely think it will create a more continuous flow of updates instead of two set times. I think it will get better and we will see new desktops very soon.

That being said, I don't think everyone should expect the updates at MacWorld knowing all about the short-term plans to release all of the leaked hardware. Except hopefully NOT an iPhone Nano. More than anything, don't take out the frustrations on what WAS released. That iLife is awesome and will be on EVERY new Mac shipped. that affects a lot of people... 9.7 million got iLife with their Macs last year! So, in my opinion these updates were the ones that will affect the most people (the two software updates). We all knew the 17" MBP was coming, and I am totally happy about the new battery. I wish they had it in the 15 MBP and MB. I am just shocked by all of the complainers. I really thought while watching the keynote a lot of people would finally be happy as they had a matte PRO option.

He puts quotation marks around professionals, because he can't understand their needs, workflows and equipment setups, and calls valid arguments whining .

Even worse, he might be a "professional" himself , doing some web design or wedding photography...

No, I put a quote around "Professionals" because it's ridiculous in the first place to say this computer is for a professional and this one is a consumer notebook. Maybe the line used to be that way, but NOT anymore. With the current MacBook line of computers, it just is not true. I will bet the vast majority of MBP owners are NOT professionals. It simply comes down to screen size and options. When it comes to notebooks, the line is too similar to make any "professional" difference. A professional could easily work on ANY of the current MacBook line of computers: MBA, MB, MBP. If someone buys the MB over the MBP it doesn't mean they don't fit into the PRO model. It could mean they want the lighter weight, they want the smaller display, or they could not afford the PRO model, and etc etc. It is definitely NOT because they are NOT PROS. They don't see the word PRO and say, "oh I cannot buy that cause I ain't no PRO (with an accent and career inferior to yours)." And Professionals don't not buy the MB or MBA because they don't say "PRO" on them. When MOST people buy a MB PRO, they do it because, they really like a bigger display, they need graphics for games, they need express card/firewire ports, they don't also use a desktop so it has to be able to handle all of their needs, they can afford any of the three so it comes down to choice, and etc etc etc. Apple is smart by differentiating slightly to make people spend more for the MBP because they need the extra port or screen space. They are NOT differentiating for professionals entirely. Some professionals may need a spec only offered by the MBP, but not all or even most professionals NEED a MBP over the MB or MBA.

Definitely not a web designer nor wedding photographer. Stupid calculation and statement.

Your other statements were ridiculous about me and my Apple products. Whatever, don't know why someone would act that way and write those things.
