ahahaha

LOL

I am going to a easter brunch at the girlfriends parents house on sunday, and I noticed the following item on their "menu"

-"30 Hardboiled eggs for all to enjoy"

I told her I would have to sit in the other room when the eggs came out!

Being around hard boiled eggs is like being dunked in Old Faithful, but not as fun

But why? There are some smells that I can't stand, like a simmering pork roast, but I never thought of hard boiled eggs as having any smell. And perhaps others don't either.

You must like to eat them. I am noticing a pattern that people who consume them do not notice the smell. Some what like wearing the same cologne, after a while you don't smell it anymore but everyone around you still does. I need to conduct an experiment!!!!

That could well be, and those that bring hard boiled eggs to work in that case are not being inconsiderate they may really not know about how they smell to others. People will never know unless you tell them (politely). OTOH I love pork roast, I just can't stand to smell it cooking.

There are far worse odors than a hard-boiled egg. Peanuts, corn nuts, Boiled-down foo-foo coffee, pretty much any perfume or cologne, and the entire software developer's bay ("like dude, please wash that shirt, I don't care if Shatner sneezed on it once").

The smell of hard boiled eggs don't bother me at all. I guess it's from all those year dealing with an stench of my coworkers' smelly food: curry, limburger cheese and mam tom (a fermented shrimp paste). That combination of stench could knock the flies off a garbage truck.;) My sense of smell is so bad now I can unclog a back up toilet without gagging.:p

the OP sounds like me to a certain degree..complaining about something inconsequential but I agree.

an egg seems pretty stupid to take outside your home just to eat.

want protein? just go buy a muscle shake.

want cholsteral? just go to Mc D's

but to bring an egg. ugh.

Hardboiled eggs are fairly easy to transport.

Just sayin'

Again, ask a tech related question you get little to no replies. Ask about some random thing that bugs you and boom.

And for someone who posts threads complaining about inconsequential things to call someone else's reason for complaining inconsequential is hilarious.

OP: hang one of these around your neck and get back to work ...

I guess the question then is do you need to remove the shell before or after putting it in that handy red case?

i hate having to take egg shells off of an egg. It takes forever and there are always specks left.

Yeah but you seem to have really peculiar problems taking the "wrappers" off even the simplest things. :p

well i can peel a banana fine. everything else i just bite right into it. I guess I take into consideration the equation (effort > enjoyment). Orange is effort>enjoyment. an Apple is effort<enjoyment.

i actually never eat eggs like the OP smells though.

i usually will only egg whites that are liquified. just pop it in a microwave and boom.

Don't worry OP, I would never bother you with the smell of boiled eggs.

Rather, I would just bring a good batch of Kimchi and rice. :D

LOL. I was about to say that if it's war they want, it's war they should get.

I'd skip the kimchi. Too many roundeyes have developed a taste and tolerance for it. Go straight for the fermented bean paste soup. The strong Korean stuff, not the weak kneed Japanese miso. Remember, Geneva conventions against bio warfare apply to nations, not individuals!

:( I wear perfume. :(

So, time to start making my lunch plans for next week...

Chef's salad with boiled eggs and blue cheese dressing
Baked salmon in a roasted garlic sauce
Asparagus
Bananas and durians for dessert

I should keep a microwave at my desk so I can make popcorn for snacks, too.

:D

Burned popcorn is the other one!!!

Burned popcorn is the other one!!!

I was guilty of this once at my last workplace. I burned the popcorn in the break room and disposed of it as quickly as I could, and tried to nonchalantly return to my desk before anyone noticed. Unfortunately, everyone seemed to already know who the culprit was, judging by the number of teasing emails waiting for me when I got back to my desk...
