Applepico sounds like a speical high tech salsa...

Jar opens with a simple three finger swipe...closes with two finger swipe. Swipe down to reveal all salsa flavors available. Costs 30% more than similarly spiced salsa. Lines outside the grocery store when released.

I think a lot of businesses would be interested in a small projector that could accept peer-to-peer wireless connections from an iPad to show PowerPoint presentations.

Still not convinced of the usability of putting it in the iOS device itself...

Now that is what I call a slow news day.

And in breaking news, it is rumoured that the new Mac Pro will be purple, and shaped like a balalaika... and called Wombat - though of course, it may not be.

Why so much whining about a speculative post on a website with the word rumor in it's name? Odd if you ask me.

The pico projector is a possibility but the brightness is very low. You'd have to be in a dark room for it to be any good. So I wouldn't count on it anytime soon.

We hesitate to read too much into today's development and do believe that Apple has owned the applepico.com domain name for quite some time, and thus it is likely that no specific announcement of a product or feature related to the name is imminent. [/url]

You "hesitate", yet you post a front page "rumor"??! This is the worst over-hype I have seen on MR, and that's saying something.

I haven't seen a quality projector yet. Yeah, they work, but they work like sh-t. It's more likely the über-nano term for some new iPhone they are pushing in China; an iPhone sans a lot of stuff, but still something you would want to buy.

Maybe they're planning on opening a kosher deli on Pico Blvd.

Does someone sit there and go through all these domain names on WHOIS all day every day?

Or maybe they are opening the 'largest Apple store ever' on one of the mountains on the Moon (Mons Pico)....I mean really, who knows?

Nothing to see here...move along.

These are not the droids you're looking for.

Who was monitoring the "whois" service on "applepico.com" so diligently that they were able to recognize this change when it occurred and determine who the former registrant was listed as? Does this come from somebody who handles such registration changes? I doubt there are any of us running a script on apple-related domain names daily and diff'ing it versus the results from the previous day.

I'm just wondering where MR gets the tips for these stories.

nano = small ipod
pico = small iphone

With all the rumors floating around about a low-end iPhone, why not?

since pico = 10^(-12) = 10^(-3)*nano, that's three orders of magnitude smaller than the nano. It's a super-small iPod nano.

Perhaps Apple is getting into the salsa business. (pico de gallo)

iPod Pico?

Continuing the trend of shrinking iPods (physically and features), Apple will announce the iPod Pico!!!

Features:
1) Touchscreen no bigger than a finger-nail.
2) None of those "world of hurt" I/O ports....there will not be a single port of any kind on the iPod Pico!!!
3) All I/O is wireless
4) Recharged via inductance
5) Headphones come with built in wireless receiver

And best news of all...yes, Apple did kill the capability to record/watch videos on the iPod Nano, but the capability will be partially reinstated on the iPod Pico....in fact you will be able to play HD videos, games, and read ebooks on a screen no bigger than a fingernail!

Imagine being at work with your hand in front of you and your boss thinks you are contemplating his every word. But no, you are watching one of your favorite videos with the micro earbuds tucked away out of sight under your hair!!!!

BRING ON THOSE BORING MEETINGS!!!!
