To every opinion, there can be found a counter-opinion which opposes the initial opinion, and there's always a huddle of like-minded people with the same opinion as theirs, which is then given as the "proof" that the opinion (or counter-opinion... are you lost yet? I am :D) is wrong. Why do people squander SO much time on worrying what other people - mainly random internet strangers, think about their personal sense of taste and design? Don't be insecure - don't be proud - let Android lovers love it, and let the "haters" hate it, none of it is wrong or right, you're all wasting valuable time on things which won't add one second to your lives.

Couldn't care less about people liking, disliking, loving or "hating" iOS 7 - I think it is stunning, but you probably do too... or maybe not. So what?

Here endeth the caring which never began :p

Lol.. A complete contradiction but hey, at least YOU got to clear your chest ;)

You would think people would care more about a crashing app or overlapping fonts/words.

Crashing apps or misaligned layouts are the kind of things that, based on past experience, we can feel confident will be fixed by public release. Design and general usability issues, on the other hand, are more cause for concern because in the past, those elements tended to be finalized by the time a beta was released. With betas 2&3, it seems apparent that Apple is still tinkering with design elements, so we'll see how things turn out.

. Only if your one that doesn't like it styling.

From reading both yours and Night Spring's posts I think you misunderstand the point that they are bringing up. Night Spring's main issue isn't the styling it's the usability. They seem to believe that the redesign of iOS lessens the usability of the operating system. Your responses indicate that you believe their main issue is with the styling. From their posts this does not seem to be the case. I do not have iOS 7 installed on my device though, so I cannot speak to the usability of the operating system.

But I think that overall iOS 7 is more usable than iOS 6. Notification Center gives you a good summary of your calendar events and weather, you have a Control Center now with some convenient functions, multitasking is easier to work with, it's easier to tell who you iMessage vs. who you can text, among other changes.

Apple has a lot riding on IOS 7. Borrowing from Android was an essential move to assure relevance and a contemporary look. In order to differentiate iOS 7, Apple made a series of rather odd design decisions. Yet they'll still in massive quantities to those who complain they're bored with iOS 6.

Thank you, that's exactly what I've been saying.

Control Center and multitasking, I agree are improvements over iOS 6. Notification Center, however, I find more difficult to use. Instead of a simple listing of upcoming events, you have to scroll through a timeline, which takes a lot longer, and if your events are widely dispersed through the day, you can't see them all at once. As for weather, in iOS 6, you got a nice big picture icon representing the current weather, with the current temperature in a nice big font. In iOS 7, the same information is presented in a paragraph in much smaller font, that you have to read through. IMO, that's much less convenient.

However, my main problem with iOS 7 is the removal of buttons, and the new UI icons consisting of very thin lines, like the new Safari icons for bookmark and tabs. I think buttons and thicker lines for icons made it easier to quickly locate the UI elements. And I especially have a problem with the Notes app, where the yellow letters on white background makes the UI especially hard to see.

I was also finding it hard to read the overall system font, but beta 3’s use of thicker font has improved the problem somewhat. I still prefer the iOS 6 font, though.

I know not everyone has these problems, so I'm not saying that iOS 7 is harder to use for everyone, just that *for me*, it's harder to use.

He is saying that for instance the new notes app uses colored words that it is too hard to use. It's a baseless argument because of the styling. I would take that over having to maneuver through 3 screens to turn Bluetooth or wifi on and off. It's a silly argument. It says new so it's easy to see that's what you push and it looks good. It doesn't even look digital. If you find this new notes app hard to use then you need your tech license revoked. It can't get any simpler. Even macrumors uses the same design language as does safari. I don't even know why I argue against this senseless whining. It's probably because it's hard to enjoy new tech or design with these people that cry about everything but still use it. Just stay on iOS 6 or go android. It really is that simple.

Looking at this picture I would never know to push the word forums for forums. I wish it was a button.

Here's Google news website on my iPad. Really the only button is the blue search icon, and possibly the blue swipe arrow on the right. I use this site every day and have no issues with knowing what to click on. Oh and the white background looks just fine on my retina screen.

Having text that is harder to read is going to be a usability issue for some users. Its not readable at quick glance and for many that WILL be a usability issue.

If you have bothered to actually read anything from seasoned developers on the web you will know they are all saying the exact same things. You don't put bright yellow on white. All you have are you opinions but instead of trolling every single post on here maybe you should do some research and find that many of the complaints here are very legitimate and backed up by seasoned professional designers and iOS devs. They aren't saying iOS 7 completely sucks, but they are scratching their heads at some obviously careless decisions that have been made thus far.

No, I was just providing my own. :D

Seriously I think this whole "affordance" crap is just BS. OMG the word "done" is colored blue but doesn't look like what a button is supposed to look like so how will anyone know its clickable. Give me a break. It will take someone maybe 5 minutes or less to figure out what you tap on and what you don't, and once they've done it will become second nature.

Some of the recent Angry Mac Bastards podcasts explain this very well (albeit with more colorful language).

It is their job to stir up controversy by getting peoples feathers up. If apple left it looking the same but added the control/notification center they would have written about apple's pending death and lack of innovation. Use your own judgement not that of people making money off of controversy. The complaints are not legitimate and they are annoying. Its people not liking the design and thats it. Its a personal preference that is not an issue to anyone other than the people who don't like it. Saying its hard to use or makes it complicated is a terrible argument. I use it everyday and nothing has changed......nothing.

I actually, truly, really,Indubididly, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocly, find the internet with its white background and clicky words to hard to use. No one went to design class and I'm lost. I want 3d everywhere. I want to wear 3d glasses all do and I want clicky buttons to pop out at me and I want gray pull downs, pool table felt, and yellow note paper. Gawt damn it is it so much to ask?

Looking at this picture I would never know to push the word forums for forums. I wish it was a button.

The "forums" link is on a light blue background that separates it out from plain text elements. Also, it's a link. Command elements on MacRumors, such as "quote," "reply," "vote up," etc look like buttons. So I wouldn't bring up MacRumors as an example of a buttonless UI.

Some posters defending iOS 7 UI have been saying things like ”it'll only take five minutes for users to figure it out," and "you'll get used to it in no time." But good UI should take 0 minutes to figure out, and you shouldn't have to get used to it.

Why should bad styling go hand–in-hand with quick toggles? One has nothing to do with the other. If Apple had wished to do so, they could have easily added Command Center while keeping the iOS 6 look and feel.

If they kept the same look you would be complaint about it being boring and outdated. The words on iOS 7 are colored differently. If thats not enough then it might be too bad for some people. The only issue I see is that when you use parallax sometimes the icons aren't responsive. Other than that it is just as easy as any os on any system ever.....ever.

I personally never complained and never will complain that iOS looked boring and outdated. The people who were complaining that are for the most part a different group from those who are complaining about iOS 7’s new looks.

I know *you* find iOS 7 as easy to use as 6. Just because that's the case for you doesn't mean it's the same for everyone else. Yes, for some people the differently colored words aren't enogh, especially when the color selection is so bad.

And as for parallax, don't get me started on that. All it does is make me dizzy. And if there's any functional reason for it to exist, I haven't heard one yet.

Your ignorance is becoming waaaay to apparent. Everything you state is still indeed YOUR opinion. Yet you are criticizing others over theirs. Also the blogs of designers are not there to make money. It's clear you don't read them even further proving your ignorance. Many are constructively criticizing while you sit back and say everything is the same nothing has changed and what's wrong with you crazy people kind of attitude.

The real question is how much is Apple paying YOU?:p

Your ongoing attitude is that of the weather icon. It's always sunny and 73 degrees.

Actually the real question is. is it really hard for you to use iOS 7?
