i do miss the old boxes, it looks so well put together. even the 5C plastic boxes looks good. no iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus... or no picture. just plain box with iphone bulge.

Minimalistic much?

Who cares about the box (*apart from you)?
I expect it was to save money. More profit$.

I really think their supplier messed up. That box looks like it was supposed to be colored. Why else they put the home button and speaker outlines on the box?

There was a theory that they did it so they could use one box for all colors, but when I got my wife's gold in the mail, the Apple logo and iPhone word on the side was in gold. Unless they're all in gold writing. I won't know until my black one comes int he mail. :)

No, you got a white box replacement iPhone. I'd take it back and demand a new iPhone.
Can't tell if you're serious or not, but in case you are, these are coming in white boxes that definitely aren't the "Genius Bar" replacement boxes. :)

It's part of a very expensive experience. I loved the old boxes and the quality they gave the product.

Oh well. Every company cuts cost and Apple is apparently no different.

Jobs would love this!

Very simple boxes with just branding, and no product shots

"Exciting" packaging trying to sell something, with product shots.

Where does Tim Cook want to be?

I think the purpose is so there are no factory workers who would bother leaking it or selling it to other people.

Kind of an irrelevant comparison... I prefer the box w/ the actual device picture on the front, though it doesn't even matter to be honest. It's a box.

They mistakenly printed up a bunch of boxes for the next ultra thin iPhone...the iPhone Ghost (it's going to be translucent), and decided to use them anyway. :)
