Why did they skip the branding on the iPhone factory box?

I really think their supplier messed up. That box looks like it was supposed to be colored. Why else they put the home button and speaker outlines on the box?
There was a theory that they did it so they could use one box for all colors, but when I got my wife's gold in the mail, the Apple logo and iPhone word on the side was in gold. Unless they're all in gold writing. I won't know until my black one comes int he mail. 
Can't tell if you're serious or not, but in case you are, these are coming in white boxes that definitely aren't the "Genius Bar" replacement boxes.

Kind of an irrelevant comparison... I prefer the box w/ the actual device picture on the front, though it doesn't even matter to be honest. It's a box.
Why do people keep saying this? They're doing this minimalistic design on purpose, not to cut cost.
They mistakenly printed up a bunch of boxes for the next ultra thin iPhone...the iPhone Ghost (it's going to be translucent), and decided to use them anyway.
Not really, I've kept all my apple boxes from previous purchase's and not one is as drab and dreary as the latest one.
