i picked up the black, because i thought it looked better. but then i saw how easily the chamfered edges chipped and how the back attracted fingerprints, so i returned it and got a white one.

I bought 'white' based on my gender. White is masculine and being a man, I felt having an iPhone this colour, my sexuality wouldn't be questioned so much in comparison to having chosen black. Neither really being a colour of course. Its amazing how black and white are neutral in 99% of things, but when it comes to the iPhone it defines a persons sexuality and gender. Its down to you to make the right choice!😱 😎

yeah, white has always screamed female, whilst the black one just looks like it's something that would be owed by somebody with a huge dong and who is unquestionably, completely male. I just don't like looking at my fridge, car and wallpaper because I start to question my gender again. But then I just look at my black iPhone 5 and remember I am all man. Thank you apple!

Interesting, in a google search for white vs black iphone there is a link to a gay discussion forum about the topic. And most the the men there prefer black. Funny considering all the people here afraid of being labeled gay if they use white phones 😛
