You can buy a Kia Rio for $60,000 less than a BMW 740 and it largely does the same thing.

And why the hell are you comparing a year old Nexus 6 phone to the 6s. Google doesn't even sell the Nexus6 anymore. Good luck buying a Nexus 6 today that has a valid warranty.

yeah here we go... blindly likening a nexus 6 to a 'kia rio' and an iphone 6 plus is somehow the BMW. Bet you've never used a nexus 6 before.
Not denying iphones are better, otherwise why wouldn't i switch.

but the difference is not that massive, not at all like the difference in quality between a BMW and Kia Rio, that warrants that $60k price difference.

I'm paying an Apple premium not just for the quality, but also for the brand, and the fact that I'm already locked in. But no, I'm not closed minded enough to think I'm paying the extra purely for quality.

give me a break. The Nexus6 has a horrible camera, battery life sucks for such a large phone, and lacks premium build quality. When it first came out it retailed for $650.

Comparing the Nexus 6 against the 6+ as they were out at the same time:

The Nexus 6 has a better display
It has a much larger display yet isn't really any bigger.
It has 3GB of RAM and doesn't reload/refresh anything. The 6+ reloads for fun.
Stereo speakers.
32GB base storage.
It has regular o/s updates just like iOS.
MUCH cheaper.
Sure the 6+ has a better camera but the lack of reloading/refreshing wins over that. It isn't like the Nexus has a dreadful camera.

So if you're an Android fan it's a no-brainer, and if price is a consideration it's also a no-brainer. Not a bad phone at all, and the 6P promises to be even better.

worse battery life
worse build quality
worse camera
loaded with spyware
worse fingerprint scanner

NEXT

If the Nexus6 was so great they would have sold more than 1,000 units

It was too big for most folk. The screen size was massive. A great well-priced flagship smartphone though and the build quality was very good. A friend has one, Motorola dontcha know.

man you are truly ignorant.

The factories that make iPhones don't hire anyone younger than 21. The wages they get are 200% higher than what they can get anywhere else. That's why MILLIONS of ADULTS apply for jobs at the factories.

And tell me the companies that make phones that don't use cheap labor?
I guess you weren't paying attention when an internal audit revealed 106 children employed at 11 factories making Apple products in 2013.

Yes and that audit was DONE BY APPLE. It was the factories fault not Apple.

Get off your high horse. The computer you are using, the refridge in your kitchen, and the products in your car all made in China in the same type of factories.

so why your crusade against 'chinese' motorolla lol

I've used phones on Android, Windows Phone 8, and iOS. The iPhone was by far the best experience of all. Android was unreliable and kept crashing, every time I installed something there was the risk of it being incompatible; Windows Phone 8 was even worse, with major features of the OS simply not working (the built in messaging system didn't work, and the security lockdowns could be bypassed by logging out and then logging back in). Then there was iOS, which while not perfect either, was at least easily upgradeable (something many Android phones aren't), and worked reliably.

My daughter and I both have iPhones now. Neither phone is the latest model (a 5s and a 4s), but both work far better than what they replaced. Tech heads look at the specs of the phones, but I think it is fair to say that apart from the storage ability, most users are not really concerned on the finer details of the specs. Most iPhone users are not going to care what the speed of the processor is, how much ram the phone has, or what the resolution of the screen is, as long as they have a good user experience.

The thing that would be the undoing of the iPhone would be a continued loss of quality coupled with ever increasing prices. The phones are very expensive now outside of the USA, and it seems to me that in particular with the 6S/6S+ there is a notable loss in build quality. Every 6S+ I have seen has a blemished screen, and I have been seeing more and more broken phones left in the displays at Apple stores. It certainly seems like quality and consumer experience is lapsing.

The new iMac with the horrifically obsolete 5400 RPM hard drive is another good example. Here in Canada the new 4K iMac is a $1900 machine with an embarrassing base storage option. As an Apple fan this makes me wince a bit, as I know it will just add fuel to the argument of Mac being an overpriced option.

So does a bicycle. But there is something to be said for the style and method.

I winced in disbelief at that 5400rpm drive.
The thing is, Apple does overcharge. In some instances it's worth the premium and in others not. I buy an iPhone because I have become locked in and it's habitual. When I first jumped aboard I genuinely preferred them for what they were but if my mind were to be erased and all my Apple products removed, I would quite possibly head down the Android road. To a newbie they surely make better sense...and no I don't mean buying a $60 Huwaei.

. If you hate Apple so much why do you hang around here?
I don't hate them, I just don't agree with some of their sketchy practices. I don't like Obama, does that mean I should leave the country? Ridiculous.

You sound like you belong in Apple PR. The best damage control is done when it looks like you are uncovering the issue. It is Apple's fault because they press their thumb down so hard on manufacturers to reduce costs or lose the contract, the manufacturers have to resort to unsavory practices to make it happen.

It's a fact China produces a lot of the worlds goods and the same problem is endemic all over the place. Maybe you should stop buying anything made in China. You wouldn't have one piece of electronics in your house; including the computer/phone/tablet/whatever you are typing these posts on. Apple at least has a public stance on this. (This thread is moving into PRSI territory)

Apple made wise move 15 years ago when they decided to dedicate millions to marketing. Steve Jobs true expertise was being an excellent salesman.
Lets turn the tables, your task - find the best salesman on the planet and ask him to create another Apple. With your simplified explanation, such a thing should be possible.

:rolleyes:How can one call that an educated guess/statement?

Anyway, thanks for trying to entertain the forum.

I will quote myself here:
...
1) Macedonia is a small and relatively poor European country (average salary from 250-300 euros)
2) iPhone's here cost more than they cost in USA or UK, some non-official resellers are selling the Unlocked iPhone 6s 64 GB for 1000 euros while the same phone costs 850 euros in Netherlands (a country with higher standard and better economy)...
So, for my country, the iPhone not only it's overpriced but it's a luxury too.

€841 here in the UK. Yours equates to £735 v the £619 here. Sure it's expensive but my 64GB 6S+ was only £36 less. If we were to add AppleCare to the UK 64GB 6S it would end up being more expensive than your 64 6S without Applecare. Ultimately the extra £100-ish doesn't send the iPhone into the luxury goods market, even if one could argue that they reside there anyway...

Because it is. Here in the Netherlands the 6s+ 64 GB is € 969 ($1100). To me that's outrageous for a phone. A similar specced LG G4 or Motorola Style (Pure edition in the US) can be had for half that price.
Still waiting for the Iphone 7+, though I'm not sure I can justify that purchase. I'll wait and see what other manufacturers are offering by the time the 7+ comes out.
