I want white because I like the look of it and I am very tired of the black phone.

My wife has the iP4 and I have used it and love it, but I decided I can certainly wait for one. If I didn't have a 3g and I NEEDED a new phone right now, I would go ahead and get the black one.

Also, the white one will grant the user magical abilities and you will get special text messages every week with the winning lottery numbers. You will also be able to facetime with SJ any time you want.

What they need to do is make a red one. I'd be all over that one :D
Thankfully they haven't gone the iPod route yet with the iPhone and offered 8 different colors. Then we'd have the

"When will the [insert color] iPhone be available" threads coming out the wazoo.

its just personal preference. i really wanted the white ip4 when it was announced, but after waiting so long i just didnt care anymore and i got the black one.

Why do people want a White iPhone? I see the white and black iPhone 4 on the Apple Store's site, and the black one looks a lot better. Frankly, I would've been annoyed if the Black iPhone was the one being delayed.
It's called Human Psychology.

When you are told that one of the two items is delayed and won't be available for a while, then that item is gonna be the most wanted one, whether one actually likes it or not.

Q: What do you think would have happened if the white iPhone 4 had been available from day one, while the black iPhone 4 had been delayed?

While this may be true for a very small percentage of people I do not think it holds true for the majority. I wanted black because I liked how it looked better than white. The fact that white was not available did not make me want it at all.

I agree a certain portion of the population would fall under "wanting it because they can't have it", but a lot of people wanted them before it was anounced as delayed.

Some people want to be different. Everyone one has a black iPhone so why not be different and have a white one? What I don't understand is why certain people will go to great financial lengths in order to achieve a "white" iPhone. Human nature I guess.

I debating what date to set as a cut-off for waiting. At some point I might as well wait for the 5.

Because when people see you walking down the street with your white iP4... they'll know they'll know they're dealing with a special kind of pimp.

Different strokes for different folks.

Some people hate the iPhone look, some love it! Some have a white MacBook and they want a matching white phone. Some have a MacBook Pro with black on the screen and they want a matching black phone.

I'm not dying waiting for it, but more color choices can only be a good thing IMO

Let me get this straight; you understand why someone would prefer one color over another, but you don't understand how their preferred color could differ from yours?

Because people always want to be special and different from the masses.

If all iPhones were white and Jobs announced a limited edition in black, it would sellout quickly.
