Fair enough. I consider it average as those are features I'd never use, but I can see why you would like them.

Yeah, its mostly useful when doing research vs general browsing. I can spend a day or so trawling for info, then want to go back to it the next day and i can generally remember the layout/look of the page but not the name/url/title/etc.

seeing a preview of it in my history is just awesome.

Yeah, see in that situation I prefer to just bookmark it into a folder for when I need it again. Different strokes for different folks :)

I suggest you start using Tomboy Notes for jotting down important websites during online websites. It's been amazing help writing up Essays and Algorithim Writeups.

I use Chrome and Songbird/Banshee. iTunes is sloooooooow...

My brother upgraded his 3G to the 4S a few weeks ago. Couldn't back up the old phone on windows iTunes no matter what he tried. Also he tells me that purchases just disappear. He is much happier knowing that he never has to link the two again now that he has iOS 5. He truly hates iTunes.

I hooked the 3G to my iTunes on my MBA and got his 4S going from that. Worked like a dream

iTunes has worked perfectly for me on Windows (I had Vista when I first got iTunes, now I have Windows 7) for several years now. Not a single bug - the only thing I really hate is the abscense of a proper queue, but that's the same on OS X. Have I been really lucky or is it because I use the player just for basic music listening (press play, press pause, occasionally create a playlist)?

Ever tried MS Internet Explorer on Mac OS? It was far buggier than Explorer for Windows had been 5 years earlier.

Some applications should only be used on the platforms they were intended for.

You obviously lie, sir. Everyone here says iTunes is the worst program on Windows because it takes 6 whole seconds to boot up! You can't possibly have an error free iTunes because everyone else hates it! You LIE!! :p

BTW, I've been using iTunes on Windows for years without a single, not one, glitch. Works perfectly for me and it's the only app for music and video that I have. Works fine for me, too.

The older versions of IE were buggy on WINDOWS, so that argument doesn't make much since. IE on Windows crashes often even on Windows 7. I constantly get "Internet Explorer is not responding" errors, too.

I wish mine worked that way. Been using it since XP and its gotten worse over time. For a while I had actually stopped updating because each update was worse than the last. Maybe I'm doing something very wrong, but I doubt it.

i rebuilt my windows xp box, stripped all the unnecessary stuff, and installed itunes, quicktime and safari.

All works a treat.

I think it's usually all the other chaff on the system (windows media player, IE)
thats causes issues.

Office:Mac 2011 is pretty half-assed too if you ask me. It goes full retard quite frequently here.
I see your point, it certainly isn't up to the standard that other native mac apps are, but I think it is more than 100x better than Office 2008 and 2004.

I have been using iTunes on a stripped down XP box as one of my media servers. Haven't had any issues with it (knock on wood). Can't comment on Safari because I don't use it on either Windows or Mac OS.

Or i could... you know... not install any more software, just do nothing and refer to my searchable browser history with full page previews? :D

I don't hate iTunes but it is annoying because it's slow as hell on my Windows desktop (which is aging, but it runs everything else much faster).

Haven't tried Safari other than on my iPhone but I use Firefox which I'm satisfied with so I don't think I'd stray to Safari unless I had a good reason to.

Safari is slow and HELLA buggy on Windows. It's not even funny. As for iTunes, it isn't quite as buggy, at least in my experience, but it can be even slower than Safari at times.

Both products are much better behaved on OS X.

I always wondered why until I got bored and bought an UltraBook. LOL 14" Samsung Series 5 @ i5 1.60GHz, 1TB, 6GB RAM, 1GB AMD, etc.

I bought it off kijiji so it's not like I can return it and I wanted too after two days. iTunes was a PITA, especially when I try to watch Videos. I couldn't run any other programs. I had to Google why and a site recommended DISABLING or TURNING OFF certain features which I was against with.

I don't know why I did but I uninstalled it and downloaded it again last night and so far everything is running smooth. *knock-on-wood.

Or it could be I spent hours updating DRIVERS too that night. Who knows. LOL

I think I am bored, I haven't touched Windows since I switched to Mac Mini when it first came out and for what ever reason I wanted to try it again. I even thought about buying the OS and running Boot Camp on my 24" iMac.

I guess I love 3D Space Cadet Pinball too much. LOL

On the last Windows computer I had in 2007, iTunes was ok. I never tried Safari, I always use Firefox.

2008 moved to Mac OSX iTunes runs faster, I still don't use Safari, I never really liked it, I now use Chrome.

Oh my PowerPC Macs, Safari is far to unstable ( the latest release for PowerPCs anyway ). Its slow, and crash's constantly. So I use TenFourFox on my PPC Macs.

Safari on my new iMac is just, well. Not very good. I hate it. I'm sure some people like it, I hate it on Windows and I hate it on OSX 10.7. Its slow, cumbersome, and just poorly laid out. At least for me. Im sure some like it.

iTunes is something I tend not to use on Windows, I use the Zune Store/Software/Zune MP3 player. None of that music from the store will play on iTunes to start with. On my iMac I use iTunes most of the time.

For me, compared to the Zune software, iTunes is very slow, it feels very dated and sluggish, its not as refined, I just don't like it. Kinds reminds me of Vavles steam.

On my PPC Macs, Ten Four Fox and iTunes
Windows, Firefox and Zune.
Intel iMac, Firefox and iTunes.

I never had a problem with iTunes on Windows or OSX. Never used Safari on either on a regular basis to really judge.

Apple has really slipped when it comes to developing software, I left Safari last year for Chrome and haven't looked back. I loaded Safari for the first time a few weeks ago and felt like I was traveling 3 years back in time. The UI needs a huge overhaul and it's memory usage is a joke.

iTunes isn't much better, I want a music player, not something to download apps or watch movies. The software has become so bloated and out of focus that playing music on it has become an afterthought to Apple.

I'm a Mac user and I dislike Safari and iTunes... They used to be good, but have become too bloated these days.

Yeah, it should be called "iGeneralMediaPlayer&iDeviceManager"...
