I agree with the OP and its something I have noticed across a range of sites. Of course there are fans of iOS that do this to Android users but I would say its definitely worse going the other way. There does seem to be a large dislike for the iPhone amongst techies and this is reciprocated on many of the tech sites like Engadget, Gizmodo, Tech Radar, Tech Crunch etc etc. Perhaps people who are passionate about tech feel every device they use should be totally customisable and free? I think iOS gets on peoples nerves because its pretty locked down and it annoys people that others are not bothered by this?
I'm an Android defector in effect and I've been interrogated many times as to why I chose to go to a different platform. Something I don't really have to justify and its something that really is about as insignificant in life as what toaster brand I have in my kitchen. We all enjoy gadgets and for different reasons. The hate we see is just arrogance that others don't all share the same opinions.
