In my opinion, you shouldn’t get it. Here is why. I put this on apple’s own forum hoping it would get someone to listen. But they just took it down immediately. In fairness, I have edited a few things to clear up where I could:
Theft and loss apparently doesn’t include loss. I get a new iPhone as time as the new one comes out every year. And, every year I get theft and loss protection. The 12 was no exception to this. And, when the 13 came out, I ordered under the iPhone every year program. And, I sent in the 12 in. There are three people in my house. And, we all get them every year. The return box this time was ups for the two others and fedex for mine. I didn’t pay attention to the difference. And, I assumed that mine was ups like theirs. So, I dropped it in a UPS dropbox. Then realized my mistake later. Stupid mistake, yes! I called Apple and Citizens (they finance iPhone every year plan). Both said it happens more than you think. UPS will see the package is not theirs and get it to fedex. Both said that there was nothing to worry about. And, that it would work itself out. After time passes, I see I am still paying for both phones. So, I call apple back and again was told that it happens don’t worry. Well now it’s like 7 or 8 months in. I’m still paying for both phones, and I call apple yet again. Determined this time to make sure that someone straightened it out and gave me my money back for all of the months paying for two phones. Or, send me a new iPhone 12 Pro Max under the theft and loss warranty that I’m still paying on both phones (old 12 new 13) because I am still being charged for both phones. After being transferred around for near 2 hours on the phone with Apple, (read this closely now) I’m finally told that I would have to LOCATE the phone before I could get coverage under the loss warranty I’m still paying for. Wanted me to check find my iPhone. Well as we all know, you are instructed to erase and reset before sending trade in back. Again, as everyone one knows, (other than those working at apple apparently) you can’t locate a phone you’ve erased and reset. But still I was told that I will have to locate the phone with ups and fedex. Again, I will have to locate the phone first. I asked if they could send me the tracking number so I could make an attempt to do this ridiculously impossible task and find a lost phone in order to get it covered under loss protection. I was told that they can’t send tracking numbers to email addresses. All the transfers to other agents and all that time. I finally just told the last guy that Apple obviously doesn’t have any intention to reimburse me for all of the double payments and send me my phone under loss protection, and I hung up on him. All the years as a loyal apple customer means nothing. I have been buying products from them since the 90s. Apple, you saved yourself a phone and reimbursement for payments that shouldn’t have had to been made. But, you have lost a customer that has bought many computers, phones, iPads and such for years. You could have sent my a dozen phones and paid the reimbursement of fees many times over and still been in the black on me. But, I can tell you this, you won’t get another penny. I’ll scream from the mountain tops to anyone who will listen that you don’t honor your commitments, and don’t care about your costumers.
