But does anyone think that the frustration of data speeds, especially with the way Wifi is available almost everywhere,is better than the forms of..I don't think bullying is the right word but it's all I got; that AT&T & VZW do? [[i.e the new shared data plans & how they're trying to wrestle people out grandfathered unlimited data plans,,even AT&T resorting to limiting FaceTime over cellular data to Shared Data plan users]]

Probably because even the Mars Curiosity rover has a faster data connection than a phone on Sprint.

Not to mention their CEO (Dan Hesse) is the same guy who was AT&T's CEO before they got bought out by Cingular. He did the same exact stuff (ie basically giving away service for next to nothing to build up the customer base without doing anything to advance the network) while at AT&T. Oh, and did anyone mention that Spring LOST $1.6 Billion last quarter? Not the type of company that I'd want to do business with on a long term basis.

Reason I like like Sprint is because they don't care what you do, my friend received tethering notices left and right for only about 2gb.

I have gotten away with 21gb in one month without a notice, also the 27% discount helps a little too

jesus what did you run it 24 hours a day for a month? I can't think of any other way to get 21gb in a month at sprint speeds.

Okay I get it,coverage maps are a little weak & customer service isn't the BEST,(but who's is? And their Internet service agents are FAR more helpful). But their prices and unlimited NON THROTTLED data roped in our family of 5,& in Baton Rouge Louisiana I've never experienced slow or unusable data speeds, even in the country parts. Will I be streaming Pandora with no buffering? Heck no,but I can load a web page pretty quick.

So I guess what I'm asking is why is Sprint always talked about so negatively compared to AT&T & VZW?

Because they suck. I had Sprint and left it for T-Mobile years ago and it has been much better....and cheaper. I cant speak for Sprint anywhere except for where i live and nobody says anything good about them here.

Because their network is garbage. It was fine 2 years ago when I got my Epic 4g. Its started going downhill fast right before the IPhone came out. When I got to work this morning I thought of this thread and did a speed test:

11kb down/17kb up. About 5 minutes later it was 282Kb down/386Kb up. This is right in the middle of downtown LA also. Pretty much sums up the network. You will never get consistant speed and its ussally terrible to bad speed. It works decent in some areas but in most its pretty crap. This is why I'm moving away from a carrier that offers unlimited, because people will abuse it by using it for home internet, etc...and make it terrible for everyone else.

People who are thinking of going to Sprint need to understand they are losing money every quarter. They've been talking for years about improving the network but its gotten worse and worse, especially since they got the IPhone. I personally think they are lying about these upgrades and only tell customers/media about them to keep give them some hope and not ditch them. How can you trust a company to improve their network when its losing hundreds of millions every quarter? ATT and Verizon can actually upgrade their networks because they are profitable companies.

I had them for almost 10 years and left when the iphone 4 came to Verizon and I switched. My download speeds were .30-.50Mbps with my Evo 4G. When I first got the phone it was 1.80Mbps but I got crowded as the Evo kept getting popular. My phones calls started to drop and I had enough and went to Verizon and will never ever go back to crappy Sprint.

Their data speeds are horrible. It's not uncommon for my friend to have similar or sometimes slower data speeds than I do on my EDGE only T-Mobile 4S.

Because with AT&T I almost always get 6Mbps with unlimited data. I've never felt like I was being throttled and if I was then it is still faster than Sprints fastest 3G speeds and I could still stream video if I wanted too without a ton of buffering.

Not to mention Sprints service is pretty weak around here. Even in the middle of no where with AT&T I never get below 2 bars.

It's also worth mentioning, regarding coverage, that Sprint roams on the Verizon network for free (including data). Makes the Verizon vs. Sprint argument moot in my opinion.

Everyone hates sprint because it's data speeds are absolute garbage. 6 Months ago i ordered a Galaxy S II from Sprint because my employer gave me a 20% discount on sprint. Below are speed tests of a Galaxy S II on Sprint and a DROID Bionic on VZW 4G LTE.

First the Galaxy SII on sprint with almost 5 bars of 3G

Now The Bionic on Verizon's 4G LTE with 1-2 bars

I absolutely loved that Galaxy S II. It was the best phone i had ever used at the time and it killed me to have to return it because it took 74 seconds to load my freakin facebook page

Ouch I have almost never had speeds like that on my iPhone. If you don't mind me asking, where do you live?

I have 2 iPhones...a 4 with ATT and a 4s with Virgin Mobile (Sprint network). At first, I thought my data speeds were crap on Virgin but it turned out that I had a defective iPhone.

The replacement delivers speeds equal to my ATT 4...and I actually get reception right around my gym (which is a dead zone for ATT, but apparently not for Sprint).

So far, I am pleased with the Virgin Mobile service...and you can't beat the monthly plan price.

I use the ATT phone for business purposes and the Virgin for personal...I really didn't want to get roped into TWO 2 year contracts with ATT so I opted for Virgin on the second phone.

Waiting for the 5 to come out...I'm now eligible for upgrade on the ATT 4.

I just hope Sprint goes bankrupt after paying Apple the amount of $$$ they did for the 4 and 4S. Just think, these are college educated individuals. Haha

So you want ATT and Verizon to raise their rates? Because right now Sprint and TMobile are the only companies keeping prices down and rates competitive.

Hate them or love them, we need MORE carriers, not less.

Is funny how people think Sprint paid all that money only for the iPhone 4 and 4s... also wishing Sprint to go bankrupt is very childish, those are thousands of american families that will be out of work... talking about educated individuals...
