iPhone 13 Pro Max Why does nobody seem to care about poor performance on iOS 15?

This is not a new thing , OS X based iOS and MacOS still have the same issues that plagued Macs from 10 years ago - bad memory management.

I usually do a clean reformat every 1-2 years of all devices. Helps to keep everything lean and working with the latest enhancements pushed without any of the residual code still on the device. That's why Apple really refined the backup processes (Time Machine and iOS backups/data management) for easier wipes and clean reformats.

Good luck.

With one bad apple, and by that I mean one bad app, can screw up the system. Using AdGuard Pro (app, not extension) cuts down on web ads crap. I do think there should be a Safari forum or sub-forum - there are complaints about it. Monterey, iOS/iPadOS.

Some use a different browser for some sites and tasks that will work better. WebKit could be the real culprit. Ability to selectively disable JavaScript for some sites works on desktop but not an option with mobile platforms.

With 80+ apps, there is always a chance one of them running amuck. Why there are iPad versions vs iOS for some.

There are complaints about performance with every new OS. It usually isn't until a dot 2 or 3 that Apple gets it right. And by spring new devices may have changed components and manufacturing - bad batteries batch in the iPhone 6s Plus was a biggie for me.

Any app that's been patched and updated can benefit from being uninstalled and a new copy installed. Safari though cannot be uninstalled. I just wish we could CLEAR CACHE which can help.

the only poor scrolling I've seen is the web sites, or maybe by design. sometimes I will go to a link from a site that is working great, then you open the link and it scrolls like molasses. Web site sucks obviously because it only happens there. Other than that (and that is not an iOS issue), iOS 15 is awesome

Wife’s iPhone XS and my 13PM both running great on iOS15. In fact my wife says her phone feels better since the update from 14

My 12 Mini runs beautifully smooth and is getting really good battery life on iOS 15. Nowhere near the sludge that iOS 11 or 13 were for me.

If that one bad app would be safari we’d all have the same issues, wouldn’t we?

And how does setting the device up all over again with the same data help with these RAM issues you mention?

I mean seriously. Sure there is a thread about this here and there but no news site reports this or any reviewer.

My iPhone 13 pro max AND my M1 iPad stutter very often when scrolling. Even in safari. How has this not been solved yet?

I haven't had this issue on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I was one of the ones who upgraded from iPhone 12 Pro Max mostly for the sake of fighting depreciation. I seriously think it's your device in this instance. Consider resetting your Settings, and if that doesn't solve it, do a repair request.

No. Adblockers, sites, corrupt cache… what path is taken to get to you from device to router to isp and all the inbetween servers and jumps. Or that AWS and adserver loads.

Before determining if it is your devices, first backup your device then reset it as new - not restoring from backup - see if the device is still slow. That can eliminate the "device" or OS as being the problem.

For me and my family? iOS 15 has been ok. It still isn't as touch sensitive as iOS 14 - but I don't feel slowness at all on either my iPad or my iPhone.

Good luck.

So what you’re really saying is that Safari or any web browser can be slow under certain circumstances.

I suspect most users will not see this unless the notice a stutter or similar issue.

For me it's a bit different.
Running a OnePlus 9 Pro (Android 11) and my 13 ProMax side by side, the 13PM should easily outperform the 9 Pro.
But it doesn't. On heavy intense stuff it does, but normal things like mail, calendar, widgets, photos, Social Media, Blink, Kindle, Youtube, and other day use items, my 9 Pro is usually faster. App or Browser makes no real difference.

I find this odd.

I think most people either don't notice or don't experience an issue. Even in the thread about the iPhone XS performance the stuttering issues seem to be sporadic with varying degrees of intensity when it does happen.

Apple should still work on this stuff though.

More RAM. Better memory management with Android 11?

I've been lamenting upgrading to iOS 15 on my iPhone XR, slower performance across the board but specially sluggish in certain applications, I really should have waited a few more months before upgrading.

On my Mac I'm always one version behind and so should I on my phone going forward.
So you wait for new awesome features for what? Few slow down during indexing or with fist major releases? Just wait for x.1 before updating. No issue at all here, iOS 15 is fast.

Since 15 while watching a video and when the orientation changes the video pauses for a good second before starting back up. Super annoying
