The reason i don't believe it's real is because it looks like complete junk compared to the previous iphone models. Why make a skinny long phone? I will just stick with my iphone 4 if this is real...

This question is extremely easy to answer. It's also incredibly obvious.

Until the phone is shipped to your door, or you go into an Apple store and hold one, there's no way to know just what Apple has up it's sleeve.

Apple's well documented silence is another clue.

When Apple is ready, they will ship them, we will see them, and then, and only then, will we know.

for me its sad bs i think it looks like an ugly taller iphone 4. if they would make it wider as well then it would look totaly different but now:mad:

You should reserve judgement until actually holding one in your hands. Personally, I wish they hadn't made it taller at all. The current size is perfect.

I believe there are a lot of indicators that Apple is not going to be in such a nice position 10 years or even 5 years from now.

Have you ever heard the saying that "people don't buy products, they buy people"?

It's commonly talked about in the sales world that YOU are responsible for selling, not the product.

In my opinion, people bought Steve Jobs. Why not? He was an engaging speaker, a master motivator and was able to convince anyone who would listen that he was holding gold and everyone else was holding brass whether that was actually the case, or not.

I firmly believe that Apple took a huge hit when Jobs passed and I, for one, believe the company is merely a facsimile of what it once was.

It will take time for the shine to completely dull, but if Apple is to avoid this fate, it will take someone other than Tim Cook to sell it.

Just my opinion, but one that is shared by quite a few who get paid to analyze these things.

This may turn out to be true 10 years from now. But today it's just too early to make that claim. Most financial analysts realize that a company under leadership such as Jobs doesn't easily change course for at least 2-3 years after that leaders departure. This is part of why the stock has continued to rise and people are still buying Apple. Talk to me about this again in 3 years and I may have a different outlook, but it's too early to talk about it today.

LOL, where have I heard this before???

I agree, the magic feels like it's waning. Tim Cook said earlier in the year they were doubling down on secrecy. Something that Jobs would do but do right. Where's the doubling down? Perhaps he meant in the future? I'm still seeing the rumors come in. Plenty of iphone , 7 inch ipad rumors. There was good evidence that the MBPR would get high res and thinner design and it happened.

You're making a lot of assumptions re: the whole doubling down thing. For one, these could be intentionally leaked.

Like I said, come back when you've found when physical components of an iPhone have been leaked and they didn't turn out to be part of the next iPhone.

Excellent post.

I believe the iPhone will end up like BlackBerry in approx 5+ years from now. A once dominante product, but the company rested on its laurels too much, and afraid to change and update with the times. The product then grew stale and the sheen wore off. Sales start to decline a little by little each year.

But first off, the iPhone 5 will be the #1 top selling phone in history. The slow demise of Apple is still a couple years off from happening. Steve Jobs death too recent, fans feel some weird sense of loyalty to buy Apple products, as a show of appreciation.

I can see Apple going the sad tacky route of selling the new iPhone. Using the ghost of Steve Jobs and tear jerky story. Saying it was Jobs final creation before his death. He worked on this in his last days. Blah...blah...blah...This tactect will help propel sales in the stratosphere.

Mark my words though, by the iPhone 8, it will not be anywhere near as popular as it is this year. It could be, if Apple are willing to change and adapt and not stick with same old same old, just like BlackBerry did.

blackberry dies because it was bland. apple will always be close to the competition and have some things the competition wont have. If sales go down they will adjust its not hard to make a larger screen but the software imo is much better and smoother than androids.
i dont feel loyalty to a person i never knew... i like the way all the products work together. Appletv/ipad3/mac are amazing together i cant just buy a android and get the same benefits. i will stick with apple because i like what i can do with their products. Not because i owe some business man that died something.

Apple is successful of course because of what Steve Jobs did, but their products speak for themselves.

You think the iPhone is popular just because Jobs is a grand marketer? Wrong. The iPhone is popular because it's Design is immaculate, UI is fluid/fast/responsive, it's easy to use, viewed as "luxury" technology, works well with Macs, iPads, iTunes, Apple TV etc.

Blackberry had NOTHING going for it besides email and BBM. Big whoop. The interface sucked, Internet browsing was a chore/bore, everything was just stale.

Apple is still a very innovative company despite competion catching up with features. Apple has billions of dollars and thousands of patents. They're always working on the next best thing.

They'll be good for years to come. No other company has the brand/customer loyalty, retail stores, design, ecosystem, computers/tablets/phones/mp3 players etc that Apple has.

Huh? I think you completely misunderstood my post. I never even hinted that the leaked parts weren't genuine.

BS, the two are hardly comparable companies. The history and DNA of the companies is very different. I'm not saying Apple won't ever lose ground, but to compare them to Rim is just ludicrous.

Im also sure this is gonna be the new iphone. Sadly bs its like an iphone 4ss

lol.

Btw, I don't have much against the tall size. I do not like the aluminum back of this device (at least as it is pictured) which is completely out-of-date

1. the gloss of the sleek glass back is gone
2. it looks like the back of an HTC Wildfire -
3. all I see is the shell of a regular smartphone - I do not see the iPhone spirit (at least on a visual scale)

I want to know the hardware before I say Im swapping from the 4s to the 5. bigger screen or not, that one reason will 110% no make me switch, show me the hardware and what this new iphone does, and we can talk, otherwise move along.

No. We know now. It leaks every year. Stop.

I will tell you why; because many people believe a phone is only different if the exterior is radically changed. Same people that have said a 4S is the same as a 4...

You're making a lot of assumptions re: the whole doubling down thing. For one, these could be intentionally leaked.

You're kidding, right? First, these components are not something someone could build in their garage, so we know they are factory made.

Second, do you really think at a board meeting that the board discusses and votes on using the factory to put money into and create some logic boards that will not be used in phones, but only used to throw off the public? I can see the body of a prototype being leaked out, but a logic board?

These parts are real, the only question is are they prototypes that will not factor into being the next iPhone. The fact that we have seen so much consistency in the leaked images from different sources spells that it is highly likely what we are seeing is the next iPhone. Put the clues together and use a little more Occam's Razor rather than X-Files conspiracy.

Again, people making more assumptions. NOWHERE DID I SAY THAT THESE PARTS WEREN'T REAL.

Hope that was clear.

Prototype parts are VERY closely guarded. Most likely these leaked from the supply line somewhere (or Apple intentionally leaked them). My bet is the former.
