That doesn't make sense. My iPad has worse specs and doesn't have any lag. Why would the 6 Plus?

Which iPad? Most likely cause of the 1080p resolution on the Plus that's why. It's been discussed that the GPU can't handle the higher resolution therefore games like Zen Garden stutter and lag while on the 6 it runs buttery smooth

Not on the regular 6 but on the Plus most definitely. If you have a Plus, download Zen Garden and you'll see what I'm talking about. Stutter galore.

I agree dude - I remember how excited I was about metal and zen garden installed it as soon as it came out on my plus and alas stutter galore! I thought hmm may not be optimised for the plus but it was used in the KEYNOTE to promote the plus!!

Whether or not it's a lack of RAM it definitely proves that the specs on the Plus are inferior for such a high resolution screen. Most likely GPU related.

... our it proves the app to be an example of bad programming.
Synthetic benchmarks proved iPhone 6 plus gpu to be a very good performer, both onscreen and offscreen....

When and if that happens, and I feel that I need it, I'll sell this phone and upgrade to the new one. As it stands, I will most likely skip the next release and opt for the iPhone 7.
As I stated, I've yet to see any lag on my 6 Plus at this point. You telling me there is lag isn't going to change that fact.

When I had the 6+, pressing the home button to multitask was delayed by a second. Animations were very choppy. The iPhone 6+ I played with at Best Buy, Apple Store, and AT&T ALL experienced the exact same. If you are new to the iPhone and iOS 8 is the first ios version you ever have used, then yes, you will think it is super fast and zippy. I guarantee you my 1 year old iPhone 5S running iOS 7.1.2 is way faster and more fluid than your 1 month old iPhone 6+. My iPhone 5 running iOS 6 is probably even faster than that. The 6+ needed better specs. That is a fact.

Now the iPad 2 is an amazing device and performs quite well.

You know what Zen Garden is right? It was at the Keynote to show the graphical performer of both 6s. It runs beautifully on the 6 but on the Plus it runs horrid. If we are talking benchmarks, the 6 has beaten the Plus in every GPU benchmark test I've seen. It's all cause of the higher resolution, so many pixels for an inferior GPU.

THIS

I still have my 5 running 7.1.2 and it flies. So fluid. Even the regular 6 runs so smooth. People just don't want to admit that the same specs used on the regular 6 just aren't enough for such a massive phone in the Plus.

1. Steve jobs was right... you need a phone that can be used one handed. I found myself using both hands which wasnt a problem but in those rare occasions where I did need to use the iphone single handed it was such a struggle! Maybe the iPhone 6 is better but alot of people who have it have said its not much of a difference compared to the 5S.

2. The LAG! when you pay so much for a device you dont expect stutters and lag... iOS 8 and 1gig ram cripped the 6+. Not to mention that 1 month AFTER its launched the ipad comes with triple core processor and 2gig ram? Apple cheaped out to be honest... Apple knew the iphone would sell like hotcakes! So why make it any powerful than the minimum.

3. Constant app crashes... honestly having a 64gig device you would use it to the fullest ie apps apps apps but the more apps that are on the thing the more it crashes!

4. Awkward construction and slippery nature of the phone - apple made the back completely flat and the aluminium is so slippery its difficult to hold properly with the fear it will drop any second!

I didn't know people "needed" to always use their phone one-handed. I was using two hands when I had my previous devices.

I'm not experiencing too much lag over here but I agree that to bring out higher specs a month after launch does seem to show that they were shamming on this device.

Did you take your device in for a diagnostic check to see why the apps were crashing? You could have even did a chat session with Apple and done a diagnostic test. You probably could have fixed what ever issues you were having.

I love the construction and think the phone is slippery. There are ways to add grip to it. I'm using ghost armor and a clear case now.. Now I have to force my fingers to slide up and down the sides.

When it comes to this lag issue, it's hard believing what anybody says. A lot of it sounds like people justifying their purchase. And I'm skeptical of people saying it's the hardware's fault, as if they have any knowledge- i.e. the 15 inch retina mbp, people were saying the lag was because the hardware couldn't push all the pixels. Then Mavericks was released and the lag was completely gone, and so were the "experts."

On the Internet, nobody knows you're a dog.

I just downloaded it (again) and played with Zen garden. If that's your idea of a slideshow, I need to show you a true slideshow game. Just try playing any of the latest Battlefield games on high detail with a 2 generation old card.
Zen Garden ran perfect on my 6 Plus. Fish were swimming, leaves were blowing and butterflies were flying with not a single bit of lag.

I use a 6 and 6+. I love the 6+ but it has a lot more problems than my 6. Almost all apps will crash on the 6+. Weird rotation issues, music stutters while browsing, if I search something it takes a good second just to populate the icons.

On the 6 it all works. Did I get a defective 6+? 8.1 fixed the wifi "no connections" issue on the 6+ but that's it.

Did you do a reset and reinstall of the OS? Might be worth a shot.

That's odd because every Plus I tried at the Apple Store including mine would stutter transitioing from each section to the Zen Garden. The leave and butterflies animations ran good it was just the movement from section to section where it would show clear stutter

Right. Glad to see you catch on pretty quick. Either way I'll be lmao next year when the 6S offers 2Gb of ram and much better performance. All of you who opted for the 6/6+ spent way too much on a limited device.

:rolleyes:why don't you just wait for the 7s? Or the 8s?

I personally find my 6 to be the just the right size, though I do miss the easy 1 handed use of my iPhone 5, the 6+ in my view is just way way to big.

As for crashes and lag, I can't recall experiencing any of this on the 6, but my friend's 6+ had many glitches and weird stuff happening, so I can't speak for all iPhone users obviously.

Man, it is your opinion of course, based on what you need. I have 125 installed apps and no crashes, no lags. Who wants a phone buy iphone 6, who wants a phablet buy 6 plus. There's no secret in there.

Well I know there will be alot of anger towards me so let me tell you this is purely my own opinion!

After 1 month of using the 6+ I just wasnt satisfied here are my reasons:

Well thats why I sold it... I guess I will wait next time before buying it on day 1...

Dont flame me reason for this thread is to inform people I know there are hardcore apple fans out there and I am one of them.

Just responses to your points:

1. You know what else is a struggle? playing a game or watching a video on a 4" screen. (one of the main reasons why I ordered 6+). I'm willing to give up 1 handed use in exchange for a better experience of a larger screen.

2. I'm not sure why you had this type of experience because every iPhone 6+ I've had the opportunity to play with is super smooth. iOS 8 even runs smooth on my iPhone 5 so I'm not sure what the cause of the lag is that you reported. I'm also 99% sure by iOS 8.1.2 it will be at its best ever.

3. iOS 8 is new. Developers are still updating their apps so blaming the hardware for app crashes is a premature evaluation.

4. Yes, it is slippery. That is why I ordered a leather case from Apple for mine and also purchased a Spigen Slim armor one as well so I can prop it up using the kickstand to watch videos/movies on that beautiful screen.

Do tell what us what phone you purchased instead.

Not sure why you felt the need to post this. I for one could careless that you returned a product you didn't like. I love mine. You hated yours. Enough said.

Do you guys spend all your time in Zen Garden or something? Obviously it's not giving you the zen you need.

I'm still waiting for my 6+, but 99.9% of my use cases will be email, web, text, and social media. The phone should hopefully be able to handle that without any lag; which I'm sure it will.

I've experienced nothing but fast handling.

I agree!. Don't really understand why people need to tell us stuff like this. I think it's to make themselves feel better about their choice. I love mine too and can care less who doesn't like it.

You know, I've just bought a regular 6 and my apps are crashing too. Just updated to 8.1 in hopes that'll help alleviate this. My 5c rarely crashed. My 6 has crashed more in 2 hours than my 5c has in 6 months....

You get used to the size and realize that every other phone smaller than it is just "too small" plus the battery life itself makes it a keeper. Only gripe with it is that it should have had faster GPU and more memory to keep up with that massive screen.

Nope, like I said download Zen Garden on the Plus and it stutters like crazy. I've tried Zen Garden on the regular 6 and it's so damn smooth. The stutter is attributed to the scaling and handling the higher pixels on the Plus.

----------

I experience this solely on Safari and with Spotify nning in the background. For some odd reason the Plus eats up much more memory for the same task I would do on my 5.

I don't agree. I have a 64gb 6+ and I just tested out Epic Zen Garden and it was beautiful and ran completely smooth with no lag or stuttering. Not sure why yours does. I only had a few other apps running in the back ground at the time.
