Why is everyone in a rush to switch to Verizon?

I don't know about you but 5 months is loonnnng....

And when the new iphone does come out in June...I doubt it will be anything new but just a minor update like the 3gs.
 
I will get the iphone from Verizon in Feb.. and if there is a new version out in June/July I will get that too.

Regarding why get it now when its highly possible that the new version will be out soon? Well once you get the new version, it becomes old again within one year.. so basically its a cycle and we all give Apple and the carrier's $$$ for the latest and the greatest...

It will be closer to 4 months if you start counting from mid February when Verizon people actually start getting their iPhones.

Most likely, you'd be able to stick with Unlimited as long as the next iteration is still 3G and not 4G. Because once AT&T and Verizon offer an LTE iPhone, everyone will have to switch away from Unlimited on both networks so it doesn't really matter.

I think those that buy an iPhone 4 now with Unlimited will be able to keep the Unlimited when iPhone 5 comes out this summer (if it does on Verizon). But yeah, it's a gamble either way...

Well. I get a 25% discount with Verizon through work. That's why I'm probably switching.
 
Been with verizon since the beginning and have been waiting for this for a LONG time (been hanging on to my 4 year old smartphone). Up until I read this information (both here and other sources), I decided I wouldn't rush into getting the iphone in Feb.


Might as well wait a few months til Verizon upgrades to new iphone late spring/early summer and then just purchase that.

I've also been saving my $100 off (new every two deal) *evil laugh*

I'm not switching, but those who wait to buy tech will never own it, because something better is always being released.

A fact that I recently have really tried to remember while making purchases. You can drive yourself insane trying to always stay on top of the newest device, or purchase it at the exact right time.

Why are you picking on the Verizon threads? We get the same crap threads repeated over and over everytime an AT&T iPhone launches as well. This is not unique to or the fault of Verizon users.

I will say this, if we continue to have alternating launches as I expect, this forum will be insufferable twice a year instead of only once.

Actually, it IS the fault of Verizon users. People are simply too lazy to do their own research or search anything - instead, they pose a question in a brand new thread that has already been answered somewhere else, multiple times. Or, they will post a stupid speculation/complaint thread simply so they can throw a tantrum like a child.

However, with that said, many other people who frequent this forum are guilty of the same thing. It's not JUST the fault of Verizon users, but they are contributing to the "fluff."
 
As for me, I will be staying with AT&T. Have I experienced drop calls? Yes, plenty of them. However, I love the fact that every year I have been able to upgrade to a new iPhone when it came out. With Verizon you have to wait for two years. They (Verizon) have been very strict about that. I remember how difficult customer service was with Verizon when I was with them. AT&T's is awesome. They have all been in the US and speak english! GO figure! I also feel AT&T took a big risk with iPhone, they benefited by adding millions and millions of customers. They added me, I am happy with them, they go the extra mile for my four numbers. I think primarily Verizon customers heard all the horror stories with AT&T and said they would wait it out. For them, the new iPhone is finally here. They will be buying it in droves. They finally get what every iPhone owner has. . . a reliable, awesome, cool, simple, unbelievable phone....that works like no other!

I'm happy for us all, we have a choice! Welcome to the iPhone family Verizon.
 
In Denver, it's not coverage, as you're covered by ATT and Verizon, the difference is that You can actually keep your call on Verizon. ATT is "Call failed" after "Call Falied" on ATT.

Not hate but more like lack of common sense to realize that most of their questions have been answered before or they can just pick up the phone and call their carrier. It seems that if someone doesn't know, somehow, someone on here DOES. Even though nobody does, except for the carrier.

Not picking on Verizon threads. They just happen to be the hot topics lately. My gripe applies to all threads that ask the same questions, over and over at launch. A little searching pulls up all the answers.

While I realize that everyone's experience will differ based on where they are, I can say that I have several friends on AT&T in Denver (where I recently moved from) who are constantly griping about the fact that they can never finish a call. I'm happy for them that they'll finally have another option!

My father lives in SE Denver, my cousin and her husband in Denver proper. All three are on iPhone. None have issues, nor do I when I visit several times a year. YMMV.
 
Shhhh. Don't try to talk switchers out of switching. I'd love to get all that extra bandwidth for my current phone.
Besides, if there's enough, it'll just make things better for those still with AT&T. Competitiveness will then make many people a winner.

Not true at all. EVDO is much faster than dialup and only about 30% slower than HSPA on average.
