My kids have already lined up to get my first gen AW if/when I upgrade to the next gen. Happened with the PalmPilot, iPods, iPads.

I'd love to get one this year, but I don't think I'd be able to afford even the Sports this year. Over the next coupe of months, will be purchasing 2 new rMB, and a 6s for my brother. Plus there's various projects around the house I need to get up an running this year. I REALLY do want an AW this year, but I don't think I can fit it in. My brother is saying he will be purchasing an AW towards the end of this year.

Even your friend bought one and reading through all the posts here and on so many other sites as well as knowing my own friends who have bought one, I have to conclude that it's not a hard sell. It's just not the device for everyone nor does it need to be. I don't have a Roku but I know a ton of people who do. I don't think that's a hard sell, it's just not right for me. And given the fact that some are paying $10,000 plus ( not that I know any of them! ) I don't think the current price is an impediment either and I wouldn't expect to see any reductions. But that's a business decision and Apple may well decide that a discount will enhance their plans for the device.

My friend bought one because he was always going to buy one to check it out - he's a well paid gadget nerd.

He's not a typical member of the public.
