This is exactly what I have been banging on about for months now.

I wish Apple dropped Pro altogether from their naming convention just so I wouldn't have to read this nonsense everywhere a 13" macbook pro is mentioned.

Agreed, it's nonsense to consider the 13 a pro.

If you have to ask why you should buy something, you probably shouldn't buy it. Buy it if you want it and need it. If you don't know why you should buy it. Don't.

I think fuchal meant drop the PRO altogether from all the laptops. Because at this point, it doesn't mean crap really.

But if they dropped the pro from all the lines, what will you say next? That 13" is not really even a computer? lol

Guys, Apple would know better than anyone what to call their machines, and they call the 13" a Pro, they are right :D

Hmmm aren't you the person who is presently developing a website proclaiming the 13" isn't a pro? Or have I confused you with someone else?

Have you even gone to the site? It's about the MacBook Pro and there is a poll to see if people believe the 13" is a "pro."

It's not about proclaiming the 13" isn't a pro, quite the opposite actually.

Did you even look at his site. It's a site that just posts differences of each and he put the 13" in the PRO category.

You're about the only person with the mentality that 13" is not a pro. Apple must be out of their mind to call it a pro.
Either you admit it's just as pro as the 15" base or you admit that even the 15" base is not a pro. So which will it be?

Haven't had time to check out his website yet but will soon enough.

And to whoever asked, no I don't class the base 15" a pro in anyway apart from it's increased screen estate.

But Apple does, and that's all that matters.

Well the 13" is a Pro because its superior to the MacBook, making it a Pro. Its not comparing the 13" to the other Pro's its comparing the 13" Pro to the 13" Macbook...;)

haha... may be true!

OP, if you want a top of the line laptop - YES!

If you are looking for a good deal - get the $1200 model and up-it to 4GB of RAM and 250HD if you need it.

Is money a thang?

What do you want out of it?

Nah not really a money thing. I figured I don't NEED the 15" high end Pro but I would like the 15" high end Pro so that's what I think I'll get.

I don't do any hardcore stuff. Just stuff in my web browser lol, but I do like the feel of the powerful computer with no lag. Also the lit keyboard is good because I use dark rooms at 5 in the morning a lot on the computer. My iMac screen lights it's keyboard but it would be cool if the iMac had lit keyboard :D:D:D

There's the same amount of "lag" with the 13 as the 15MBP. What gives you an idea there'll be a lag?

FYI, the low end 13" 2.26 scores higher on GeekBench than the 2.4GHz 15MBP that was out only two months ago. You're getting bad information if you think getting the 15" badboy will really give you less lag, especially with what you listed as your uses. From what you're listing as primary needs, you could probably get by with a 1.6GHz MBA.

i'm pretty sure this kid is like 13 or something. Why would he need a MBP

Well personally I am a strong believer in future-proofing my purchases so you have to remember that in a couple of years he will be 15/16 and more than likely gaming, for which the 15" badboy pro is more than ideal.

in a few years his 15" he can buy now will be crap and we will have bought a new computer, rather save his money for that :)

In a couple of years everything we have new today will be crap and won't be able to keep up with new games he'll want to play anyways. THERE IS NO FUTURE-PROOFING TECH.

*Grabs crotch* future proof this:
