I think this vid shows why it could be a big hit for people like me that want a "smaller" phone, but also need a bigger one (than my current IP16ProMax) for when I'm looking at crap for work...I mean, I'm getting old... 😛

Yeah, the thought of reading my work emails on it, vs my current 15 plus, sounds fantastic

Based on various threads and posts, not just this one, it appears that some people are annoyed that the iPhone Duo exists, and that some people actually want to buy one. I find this to be a bit odd. I have no use for the VisionPro, despite it being an impressive looking device, and haven't thought about it since it launched, and no one made me buy one.

As for how well the iPhone Duo will sell, or if it will fail, I don't think it's going to be as niche as the VisionPro as many are suggesting, but the price is probably going to keep many would-be buyers away more than the specifications. But, there are also many people who may utilize Apple's Upgrade Program, or 0% interest Apple Card installments on top of a trade in, and may not mind a slightly higher monthly payment.

I hope the iPhone Duo sells well enough to make Apple consider a second generation, with hopes that memory and storage prices will normalize (or at least improve) by then.

You should also know that a new iPad Mini is imminent, so this comparison will be dated fairly quickly. Also, there are 11" iPads/iPad Pros/iPad Airs that are worthy of comparison.

We could compare to the iPad Pro or the iPad Air, but then the iPhone duo just looks like an absolute bargain in comparison.
The 11 inch iPad Air with the same storage as the duo and cellular data is $1000, and an iPad Pro with 256 GB and cellular data is $1350. And again, before tax, Apple Care, cellular data plans, etc.
An 11- inch cellular 256 gigabyte iPad Pro and an iPhone 18 Pro together are $2548, and that’s before tax.
Add in tax, an Apple Pencil, a smart folio case for the iPad, and you’re looking at well over $3000.

Edit: I was actually wrong, upgrading to cellular on the iPad Pro is even more expensive than I thought, a full $200, not $150 as I originally stated.
So that’s $1399 for a 256 gigabyte cellular 11 inch iPad Pro, bringing our total before tax up to $2598.
In other words, it’s 600 extra dollars to get an iPhone Pro and an iPad Pro together, then it is a duo. At least if you want cellular data.
And even if you opt for Wi-Fi only, it still $400 over the duo.
The iPad air isn’t much better.
