It's being speculated at best.

You can read the BGM packaging lol what do you want a personal announcement from Jony Ive?

This forum appears to be run by Samsung. Apple gives you everything you ask for, you say "but I want them to throw a parade! Samsung has three parades!!"

Why is there a lack of enthusiasm? IPad Air 2 could be a major upgrade if there's an 8mp camera, Touch ID, Apple pay, slimmer design, retina hd, 2gb ram, split screen multi tasking, gold colour, 32gb base line model. I skipped ipad 4 when I had ipad 3 but this time is different.

Ipad air was mostly all about the new design but inside this will be one of the best.

For me it just doesn't seem like that huge of an upgrade to the iPad Air. While the Air is a great device it's poised to be a lot more. There's very little doubt in my mind that the iPad Air will move more towards becoming a true laptop alternative, even in the face of eroding MacBook sales. With rumors of a larger screen Pro version persisting it makes sense for me to wait another six months to a year to see what develops.

iOS 8 made my iPad Air such a mess . I won't be upgrading anything until I see if my problems are fixed with 8.1.

Not to start a flame war but I'm much more excited about the Nexus 9. Might get the LTE version tonight and setup the iPad Air with my wife's accounts.

You can see a blurred/distorted character. You can't tell that if it's an "A" or an "8".

This doesn't have anything to do with Samsung. It has to do with facts. The fact is that you can't honestly see which character it is. Unless, of course, you can post a picture that has a clear indication of what it is. smh

I've waited two years for a new iPad, and was hoping this was going to be it. I'll wait to see what the iFixit tear down shows.

Can you use use google? There are detailed pics and several articles saying 2GB

Unless you're just here to complain until the chipworks tear down is done or anandtech reviews it.

Provide an accurate link then please. Only thing I've seen is the not so clear ELPIDA chip with the supposed "A" as the second character. If you have a link to something else, please post it. I'd love to know.

I agree, so far we don't know for sure. With the 6 Plus, some people were claiming 2gb simply because GSMarena said so ffs.

Yeah, I don't take "leaks" for much. Until I see it officially announced, or a tear down from a reputable source, it's just a glimmer in my eye. ;) lol

What can the air 2 do that the air can't do?

I have a retina mini, but it's pretty much the same situation...

At this point it seems like the upgrades will be incremental. Meanwhile, it's not like the current iPads fall down in any particular area in a big way. If you don't really need Touch ID (and if you do, why'd you buy an iPad without it?) everything you listed is incremental, in a pretty small way. Well, there's Apple Pay, though most would be much better off with the more portable iPhone 6 for that.

Anyway, if you want to upgrade and have the cash, you don't need to convince us.

Safari tab reloading is a software problem. 2GB might help a little. Or it might not help at all. Generally, changing hardware is a really inefficient and ineffective way to solve software problems.

All reports so far point to the tab reload issue being gone on the iPad air 2 so I plan to purchase now. I figured more memory would fix this.

I'm sticking with the Air.

The Air 2 doesn't do enough more me to upgrade.

iPads are devices that need to be upgraded annually. I use it mostly for streaming music, video, movies; social networking with Facebook and Twitter; writing; as a Kindle.

That covers 95% of what I use an iPad for. The other 5% is for games.

When iOSx gets split screen multi-tasking and user accounts, then I'll consider it. I'll probably stick with the Air if the Air 3 doesn't have these abilities as 95% don't require that much processing power.

Personally, I'll get a new Air once it has a bump in display ppi & true multi-tasking. Until then, all that horsepower is a waste for the 1-app-open-at-a-time OS...

Excellent point and some of the Tech sites have begun to point this out as iPad sales remain sluggish if not in decline.

Everyone who bought iPad Air by mistake thinking it is better than the future iPad Air and like us we don't know what next iPad will have in the future. We all want 2GB ram. I don't care much about 8MP camera, Touch ID, and retina HD. :apple:

My Reason

I buy almost every Apple product the day it comes out if I can. For some reason there are a few that I don't mind waiting for. The iPad Air I have seems great and the iPad Air 2 seems to be a bit faster, thinner and have the fingerprint reader which I have enjoyed on my 5s and 6 Plus. I'll eventually get the iPad Air 2 but will probably wait to get it for Christmas. There just doesn't seem to be much of an upgrade. Not like last year.

iPad Air was definitely a huge step forward with that improved chassis. Sort of like iPhone 4S to iPhone 5.

Air 2 is another step forward though especially for the internals. Sort of like iPhone 5S.
