Go try and iPhone 3G S and a Palm Pre. See which one you like better. Then buy it.
Your welcome. Make sure you make that comment to the Pre people on their forums also.![]()
First iPhone had the same thing - either data or voice. If you were using the browser or downloading emails, calls when straight to voicemail.
Also, those complaining about iPhone's lack of multitasking, look again. All of Apple's native apps have it. What happens when you're on a call and you press the home button? There's your home screen. You can open any app from there (unless you're on a 1st gen, then Safari's not going to do you much good). Next, send an email and close Mail and open Safari. Hear that? The mail sending sound? Yeah. Cuz mail continued to work in the background til it had finished it's task. Same with SMS. And of course everybody knows about the iPod.
People prefer having the option of data during a call so they RECEIVE calls while USING DATA. Everybody saying it's stupid need to open your mind a little.... First iPhone had the same thing - either data or voice. If you were using the browser or downloading emails, calls when straight to voicemail. Hope this clears things up.

Apple knows what they're doing. Maybe they're waiting for developers to prove that they can write code lightweight enough to not bog down the OS when it's running in the back.
