Apple developed the Rose Gold for its Chinese market, according to Tim Cook. No testing the waters there.
Yeah, same reason why Apply developed the gold color. The largest growth will be in Asia, and the largest country over there is China. It has been clear that western markets only like black (and maybe white) color. Simply look at the color choices of other electronics in the US vs Asian countries like Japan/Hong Kong.

IMO it's clear that some makers *think* that western markets only like black and white. It'd be nice if the variety offered overseas was offered here.

Whether it be considered Rose Gold, Pink or Salmon, I actually like the color and can't wait when I upgrade to the iPhone 7 with this rose gold color. Are any of you guys giving it a second thought?
Yep. I ordered a rose gold 128gb 6S.

I just watched the episode of south park about PC principal. That describes some members of this thread, and forum in general, to a tee lol.

straight male that stuck with gold instead of rose gold because wife is getting rose gold and i don't want to constantly get our phones mixed up.
This actually the reason I went space gray this year. I prefer the silvers phone but will be the only one in the family with a black front. I know which is mine at a glance even in low light. That beats out whatever color the back of my phone is.

I've also had a white front three years now so it's time for a change. My wife does have a really nice case that is a woven purple that will go well on her rose gold though. Will definitely look nice!

Everybody. I think it was only after the mid-19th century that 'pink' became associated with femininity. Prior to that it BOYS wore pink clothes. Pink was considered to 'aggressive' or stimulating for girls. Blue was considered a 'demure' cool (calming) color for girls and women. That said, hopefully, we'll all just be comfortable enough with ourselves to buy the color phone that we want... lol. It's not like you're buying a pink dress to wear every day! Also, the more I look at the images - the less pink the phone looks to me. But I haven't seen one in person -- I need to before I make a decision. But, based upon what I see on my computer screen(s), it looks more of a coppery blond/taupe color. That is one problems both with photos taken with different lighting, as well as images perhaps not accurately rendered on our web devices. I do think it looks beautiful. But, whether I would want to look at the color every day depends on how it looks to me in person with my own eyes!

Messed around with gender roles
Line my eyes and call me pretty"
