Will Apple allow returns past 14days?
It shouldn't matter if it was indeed purchased at an Apple Store. If it wasn't, well... That's another situation all together.
This family member person didn't buy it off a scalper outside an Apple Store, did she? Because that happens a lot and kinda makes the hundreds of dollars in cash thing a little harder to recover without turning around and selling it on eBay or something.
