If you have apple care plus then your covered.

If you haven't and try to go down the out of warranty replacement route you may run into issues as the device has to be 'serviceable'

If you paid for applecare, then why wouldnt they? That is kind of the point of it no?

I think AppleCare Plus would pay for "accidental damage". I'd really like to know what accident this was. Accidentally putting the iPhone on your camp fire instead of the marshmallows?

Crazy ex girlfriend?

Wouldn't hurt to go down to your local Apple store and find out.

It's an anger management story lol

It's my brothers phone. He was trying to take his phone out if his otter box to put a Zagg glass protector on it. Somehow he cracked the screen. He got mad that it cracked and threw it across his yard. When he did it hit his garage. This is what happened.

Wasn't ran over by a car.

And I'm not a troll.

You had me worried there for a moment!

You just got the new 5s, I thought maybe it had come to a quick, sudden and very bad end. Sorry that happened to your brother's phone but glad it didn't happen to yours.

As has been mentioned, if AC+ was bought Apple will replace for $99. You get two ADH allowances. After that, Apple won't cover accidental damage anymore.

Hmm, throwing it out of fit of rage is hardly accidental damage.

Apple doesn't ask questions on the two ADHs you get if you get AC+. All they care about is their $99.

I just have to laugh at this if he threw it a second time out of anger. Really a smart move.

If there's AppleCare, yeah he can get it replaced

If its malicious damage, I don't see why they can't reject a claim.
I recognize your point and agree with you. The contract does not use the words "malicious" or "intentional". And Apple would be well within it's rights if it knew to reject this.

But as you've acknowledged, they really don't. If it's something right out in front of them that they cannot ignore that's one thing. But generally they do not ask questions.
