I find it pretty funny that a message board of predominantly white, male, techies have such a strong opinion on a product that's obviously not targeted to them in any way whatsoever. If you've ever been to a night club and seen the women there, you might have an inkling of who this is designed for.

Pat yourself on the back sir! I am clapping you for your achievement! You have managed to STEREOTYPE an ENTIRE board that you have also commented on. Well done!

Perhaps one day we can all celebrate when you take your head out of the gutter and stop presuming things all the time? Like what colour skin people you have NEVER met are or that they are all 'techies' which in itself is more stereotyping.

I wish he could see our comments, and then watch him try to defend it
Oh, but I think he IS... Will.i.believe.is.the.troll.Psychj0e

Well, judging by his retorts to all the negative comments.
Either that, or he's a will.i.want.to.suck.your.d**k fanboi?

What a load of old s********** ****-***!!

Olloclip exists already for people who need different lenses. It really can't see the point of this.

Anyone who has enough money to waste on one of these will already and an iPhone 5.

The subtle racism and smug willful ignorance of pop culture in these threads is both uncomfortable and annoying. I think the product in black is interesting and shows more of the iPhone's impact on design

I hear ya! But this is the Internet, people say what they normally wouldn't say to someone in person because there's no one to confront them about it, sad.
With that said, it's definitely overpriced so I wouldn't purchase it regardless of how it looks.

Can't fault the guy for being entrepreneurial... I wouldn't buy it. But it's not a "terrible" idea. Just a very Niche one. I could see some people getting it. But definitely not for everyone.

Gold and white is tacky as all hell though.

It's outside of the box thinking even if it's not great at least it's something new.

This reminds me of the time Will.i.am got Salesforce to do the "Chatter" commercial during the Superbowl a couple years ago. Mark Benihoff kept hyping this mystical Superbowl commercial that Will.i.am was responsible for at the Dreamforce immediately prior, and after it aired, I got a bunch of messages from my friends asking me exactly what the hell it was that I did for a living. Because the commercial had nothing to do with Salesforce.

Just like this product has nothing to do with the iPhone.

This is epic. It manages to undistill everything that made the iPhone great and entomb it in a complete piece of crap. It should be called the iSarcophagus. Can anyone read the inscription? It could be a curse.

So turning an iPhone with its mediocre camera into a pocket camera for 200 bucks.

Why not get a good Canon or Nikon pocket camera?

Oh yes, gotta cash in on the iPhone craze.

I look around for ethnic people before I type something racist on the internet. :p

I feel like that is a good direction to be going, incasing your smartphone in a camera for seamless sharing.
But who the hell wants that bling??

This is actually really neat.

I wonder if it also works as a battery pack? I could see a lot of people ditching their DSLRs for this. Certainly has the right number of megapixels.

Doubt it. Cause those that really use their DSLR know that megapixels aren't the whole game. And this thing is too slim to have a really good light sensor etc.

Those that bought a DSLR to say they have one, they might get this

What I don't understand is the purpose of the slide out keyboard. It doesn't appear that the screen is blocked when the phone is in this monstrosity.

So Will.i.am elected to add a superfluous feature like a slide out keyboard onto an enclosure that's already too bulky? We can debate about the musical talent of Will.i.am; but I don't see how anyone can argue logically that he has any talent when it comes to designing smartphone accessories.
