Mine is almost unusable now. All you people commenting, talking about its running pretty well, and it barely finished installing already, need to quit. Leave your, aint even used it yet, know-nothing thoughts to yourself.

Mine was fine at first. Now the home button won't register it's running soo slow. You keep pressing it, and continually end up getting the currently running/task switching bar instead.

had no thoughts of getting an iPad 2 until iOS 5 killed my iPad. And there lies the real motive! Apple already faced a class-action suite when iOS 4 nuked all the iPhone 3Gs. They haven't learned their lesson. Instead, they keep pre-maturely killing the previous-gem device so that you're FORCED to upgrade.

Yes, you're right. That's why this forum is full of people complaining that their iPads have slowed down over the last month.

Actually, I can't see those comments, so perhaps the Apple conspiracy is just against you.

Or perhaps there is a specific problem with your iPad. As suggested above, try restoring it, or maybe take it to a store.

Just another case of "it's happening to me so therefore it must be happening to everybody else" syndrome.

It's obvious that iPad will run fine with iOS 5, since iPhone 3GS already runs faster with iOS 5 installed. Great update.

I was getting ready to sell my iPad 1 then decided to upgrade to iOS5. Wow, web browsing is so much faster on it now. Finally Apple addresses the one issue that always annoyed me about the iPad (and other tablets.) SLOW BROWSING NO MORE!

Works Great!

I just updated my company iPad 1 from iOS 4.3 to 5.1 the other night and everything works great! Some things even work better than before - Safari is faster, you have tabs in Safari which is cool, typing even seems to be faster, more responsive. I had read some of these posts and other forums before doing the upgrade and was a little hesitant. But now that I have done it, I wish I had done it sooner!
