I am receiving my iPad 3 next Friday and would like some protection ready to go for it once it arrives.

I know the form fitting cases wont fit just right due to the new curvature on the back but is the screen and camera positioning just the same?

If so I would like to purchase a screen protector now before it arrives.

Thanks so much for the info.

From everything I've seen and read the front is identical. However no one will no for sure until they get in our hands.

It looks like it's the same but I didn't know if the front camera and sensor we're in the same spot or not.

Anyone been able to confirm this yet?

Ya cheaper is good too but really I just wan't some protection for the screen come next friday when it arrives and if the iPad 2 Power Support protector will work for the iPad3 then I would like to get it and have it sent to me before the new iPad arrives.

Does anyone know this yet?

I'm gambling that there won't be changes and I ordered my Power Support anti-glare right after I ordered my new iPad. If it doesn't fit, well, I'll resell it. But I think it will be fine.

Ya I want to order my Power Support Crystal protector but don't want to pull the trigger if there is something different in the screen.

Did it? I watched the Apple's New iPad media event but it didn't mention anything about size?

It didn't mention anything about the fingerproof either. I'm discovering more features it seems like.

Ya it did. the thickness is like .09 thicker something real small like that and the weight is tiny bit more.

They did say this in the keynote event as well.

I just wish they would say yes the screen is the same so you good to go to buy any iPad2 screen protector.

What's the PS crystal running nowadays?

I'm wondering the same thing. But my feeling is that the front is still the same, and only the thickness of the casing has changed.

What??? So the iPad 2 is thinner and lighter than the 3??

Why did they do that :confused::confused:

I bought the anti-glare for $29.95 I think. Total was $35.85. Crystals are the same price I believe.

The weight and thickness changed. We know that. But I doubt the screen/front changed. I certainly wouldn't be buying a case until we know more.

California Buyers: $37.87 (tax here since this company is in CA.)

Not sure if I'm gonna pull the trigger just yet though ... I would hate to spend almost 40 bucks for something that doesn't fit right or have the camera and sensor holes line up.

Apparently, the retina display requires a thicker screen. The weight could also be the screen, or maybe the battery is a teeny bit larger? We'll know for sure once the iPad goes on sale and ifixit takes it apart.

Anyone have anymore info on whether I can buy an iPad2 screen protector for "The New iPad"?

I just don't think anyone who knows is allowed to answer this question before the product launches. My plan is to just buy some iPad 2 screen protectors, and if they fit, fine, and if they don't exactly line up, I'd at least have some protection until I am able to buy one made for the iPad 3.

I thought that to but to spend almost 30-40 bucks for a temporary protection is WAY to much for an iPad.

No way I can justify that.

MediaDevil Crystal Clear Ordered

I use the MediaDevil protectors. Trick is to put them on in the bathroom after running a hot shower to kill the dust, and having some good cellophane around if you do get any dust.

I have had the Matte protectors on all the other iPads but Matte causes some sparkly pixilation, due to it being Matte. With the better screen decided clear was the path this time around. I will get it here before my iPad does, ordered yesterday via Amazon.

Holding off on a case, going to use my beat up case for now until I find the ideal case for it.

Inferring from the HxWxD comparison and side by side pics of the iPad 2 and new iPad, found here, I would think the front is the same. I think the problem will be more for cases because of the new thickness. Still, I was going to order a cheap iPad 2 screen protector just to see.
