Inferring from the HxWxD comparison and side by side pics of the iPad 2 and new iPad, found here, I would think the front is the same. I think the problem will be more for cases because of the new thickness. Still, I was going to order a cheap iPad 2 screen protector just to see.

Where would one get a cheap non-wet protector perhaps ya got a link?

Just google "ipad screen protector," you would have found one already, lol.

Right. That's how I'm finding everything.

bobright - Google "ipad 2 screen protector", start with shopping results, or go straight to ebay or amazon. Find one that cost $5 tops and done. May have to do a little filtering and comparing, but otherwise, easy peasy.

InvisibleShield HD full body. HD for enhanced clarity for higher resolution screens.

30-40 dollars? I get my screen protectors for about half that price.

Like this, for instance.

Ha, this guy even has one for sale for $3! I suppose shipping costs more, lol.

I have used a TON of different cheap screen protectors that are horrible and you get what you pay for and for $5 bucks you get what you pay for.

I won't buy anything but a true Power Support etc. screen protector ... the best protection and the least horrible looking screen after install.

You lose TONS of quality in the picture and the old iPad sucked on that so doing anything to them to blur and mess up the picture was a no go. And now the screen is so beautiful it seems there's no way I will spend top dollar for a new Retina Display and throw a 2 dollar protector made of junk and kill the quality.

If you pay 500-800- dollars for a handheld tablet computer ... why would you pay 5 bucks for a junk screen protector.

Just my 2 cents but buys like this make NO sense to me.

It's quality or nothing people.

----------

ive got an unopened power support crystal for the ipad 2 i was planning on using. ill let you know friday if it fits

Power Support Crystal is the ONLY ones I buy ... best protection, the Easiest install hands down and the crystal is not like the antiglare that screws up the screen picture etc.

I would GREATLY appreciate that ... I'm so damn sure it will but don't want to drop the 37 bucks on it and it doesn't.

They are in my state so if I found this out Friday I will only have to go a few days naked till I can get it covered.

Thank You so much for letting me know and testing the ONLY awesome screen protector and the ones I have bought for years.

Interesting. At the bottom of this thread is an ad by Spigen Sgp to protect the new iPad ("Protect Your Retina")with Steinheil. lol.... Imagine that.

Check back on Friday March 16th when the people NOT under non-disclosure agreements have new iPads in their hands.

I will have mine then so why do I need the info then!

People have had their little hands on these out there and someone knows.

Ohh well ..I got the smart cover for the time so I'll just wait and see.

Above link seems to state they are the same on their website.

Well, ok, if you feel that way. I was only suggesting that you get a cheap screen protector to throw on the iPad 3 as a temporary stopgap measure until we know for sure whether an iPad 2 protector will fit or not. I'd rather live with a cheap (and possibly not perfectly fitting) screen protector for a while than use my iPad without any protection while I wait to get one that fits properly.

You are correct! Sorry for the pissy reply bro.

I'm gambling that there won't be changes and I ordered my Power Support anti-glare right after I ordered my new iPad. If it doesn't fit, well, I'll resell it. But I think it will be fine.

Have you used their anti-glare covers before?
I'm worried it will look crappy and defeat the purpose of the retina display.
Any thoughts?

I have the anti-glare on my iPad 2. We have an iPad 1 with Ghost Armour on the screen and back (gave it to my grandkids, hence the GA - sticky fingers and all). My husband has an iPad 2 with no screen protector.

I put all three side-by-side and looked at the same websites and some pics I had put on all of them. Now I'm a bit older but I really couldn't tell any difference in the displays. Someone younger with a decerning eye may be able to but I doubt it.

All three had the same tactile feel (good, smooth). But my anti-glare really helps with the glare while outside on the patio and even while sitting next to a reading lamp. But the thing I love most is that I just don't get fingerprints.

I don't know if the same will hold true with the new display but for me the anti-glare and anti-fingerprint properties should be worth it IF any difference shows up. I thought it was worth it. YMMV.

I will have both Friday so I'll let you know.

Thanks!
I ordered a Power Support anti-glare screen protector. Guess I'll see friday how it looks.

anti glare makes the screen look terrible though

no it doesn't...not if you get a good AG protector. i don't know how anyone can use the ipad w/o an anti-glare screen.

as for the original topic, yes, ipad2 screen protectors are fully compatible with the new ipad.

FYI:

http://www.powersupportusa.com/

They are saying The New iPad 3 anti-glare and crystal screen protectors are
Coming Soon!

Which leads me to believe there is some slight difference in the screen protectors from the iPad2.

Glad I waited and didn't waste my money on something that doesn't fit correctly.

according to SGP, all the screen protectors for iPad 2 works with the new iPad

Did it? I watched the Apple's New iPad media event but it didn't mention anything about size?

It didn't mention anything about the fingerproof either. I'm discovering more features it seems like.

The length/width did not change. Weight, thickness and tapering did change, slightly.

I use the MediaDevil protectors. Trick is to put them on in the bathroom after running a hot shower to kill the dust, and having some good cellophane around if you do get any dust.

That trick with the shower does NOTHING for me. I've tried using it 4 times and it never works. lol

So any new news whether or not a Power Support iPad 2 protector will fit The New iPad?
