Got new iPad in today but without having a screen protector it's hard to know if this will fit.

I want to order a Power Support protector but on their sit it says iPad 3 screen protectors "Coming Soon" ... basically saying the ones they have for the 2's won't be a perfect fit.

Anymore info on this from someone who had this protector and installed it would be great.

Thanks

Just installed the iPad 2 Power Support crystal screen protector on the new iPad. Thankfully, it fits!! :D

Really? Everything is snug and looks right and all the lines and holes etc. line up perfect?

Weird cause their website shows "Coming Soon" on screen protectors for iPad3.

Hmmmm .... don;t know if I should order the iPad2 one since you say it fits or wait and see what this iPad3 one is all about. Thinking maybe they made a change to it to help with the retina display or something.

Installed a SGP Steinheill Ultra Crystal iPad 2 screen protector on mi 3rd gen this evening. Perfect fit.

The New iPad vs. iPad 2 are the exact same dimensions minus the thickness and weight. The screens are exactly the same. I just ordered me some iPad 1 screen protectors for the 16GB I will be picking up.

Cool, wonder when the new Power Support protectors will be available. Afraid the current anti-glare one will make the new screen fuzzy...

Yes, the corners and cut-outs for the home button and camera all line up. It looks just as good on the new iPad as the one on my iPad 2, and took me just as long to install (ughh)! I am not sure what PS would want to modify, but if you can't wait for the new ones, the current films work.

My husband just replaced his crystal film on the iPhone 4 with a PS Anti-glare, just because the crystal was all dinged up and the original film pack that we bought came w/an anti-glare. It does take away from the sharpness of the Retina display. I would assume that the same would happen on an iPad. On another note, I was really happy to see that although the old screen protector got beat up over time, his iPhone screen was completely scratch free!

I've read that the Power Support crystal screen protectors are excellent for both protection and clarity, but I've heard they're a nightmare to put on because they inevitably attract dust to the underside of the screen protector when you are installing it.

Is this true? Does anyone have any suggestions for installing it without getting any dust trapped?

Thanks in advance.

They are a bear to install on the iPad. I don't know how to avoid getting dust under it, no matter how careful you are, since it is such a big sheet. But removing the dust isn't too hard. After I applied the film, I used a piece of scotch tape to lift each corner and another to remove the dust specks. The whole process took me about 45 minutes.

I put mine on in about 30 secs. The trick is to just peel the backing down just enough to line up the home button, an inch or two. Then slowly peel it down, smoothing as you go. If you do get some lint under it use a piece of scotch tape to remove it. But if you clean your area around you you probably won't have any lint issues. Just wipe it down with a lint free microfiber cloth, move the cloth away from you, don't have and other linty things near. I just make sure the kitchen table is cleared off and go to it.

I've been using screen protectors since 2004 or so. The Power Support are by far the easiest I've ever used. The only other route I would go is possibily Ghost Armor and I have those put on in the mall. They are really nice but I want the antiglare, anti-fingerprint properties. I had Ghost Armor put on my grandkids iPad - sticky fingers you know.

I drove to the Power Support store in Burbank late yesterday afternoon and they did an expert install on my Crystal Film protector.

Yes, it is the protector currently listed for the iPad 2 as well.

Looks great.

I've had PS Crystal Film on all my iProducts since 2007...

They are SO nice at their store, as well.

To be honest, the ipad 2 screen protectors will not fit the new ipad..i brought the zagg hd invisible shield from best buy not applied the protector i have to say that even though it was proclaimed as a ipad 3 protector it didn't fit well. The screen camera hole doesn't fit perfectly in the middle and it covers the camera a a bit. The hole for the home button isn't directly in place and its off to the right abit so it makes the screen look weird. so i suggest you guys not to buy the ipad 2& 3 screen protector now as they are not the right fit at all. the screen protectors were a tag too small.. i guess like by 2.5cm?

no idea why the problem with your zagg, but I am typing this on a new iPad with a SGP Steinheill Ultra Crystal for ipad2 installed on it.

Everything lined up perfectly. So at least SGP is the exception to your claim about ipad2 screen protectors not fitting.

I also saw someone attest that power support worked fine.

Actually, Power Support says that their films fit the new iPad:

I installed the iPad 2 ps crystal on the new iPad without any problems. The holes line up great. No problems. Can barely tell its there.

My guess it'll be the same thing just packaged for the new iPad. If you want it now I would feel confident with the iPad 2 version. If you still have any concerns about it, wait.

Awesome! Thanks for the info bro.

Once last question though ... did you see any decline in the quality of the Retina display picture after you put on the crystal film? Just curious if it kinda dulls out the amazing display at all.

I upgraded from the original to the new iPad soley for the retinal display. I don't think the PS Crystal takes away from the display at all. It's the usual high quality PS product and someone looking at it probably wouldn't even notice it has a screen protector on it at all.

I definitely would NOT do the anti-glare if you are looking to preserve the screen quality. I had that on my original and did take the tradeoff on clarity for decreased glare. I wouldn't risk that with the retinal display.

Hope that helps.

I don't know but I think paying $30 for a screen protector is kind of silly.
It's just a precision cut piece of PET film.
Produced in mass quantities for pennies in far away lands.

I usually get mine from eBay for $2-5 depending on the size of the screen.
Sometimes they're crap but most of the time they're just as good as the expensive ones.
I got one for $4 for my iPad 2 last year and it was great.
The one I got for my iPhone 4S for $1 is crap, hazzy and easily scratched.
I'll just try my luck and order another one, worst case I end up paying a few dollars more.

I got a case for my iPad 2 with the money I saved on a screen protector:
http://www.amazon.com/Mivizu-Sense-Leather-Feature-ciPD2mvzSMRTblk/dp/B004V0CCQK
$30 and covers the whole thing with leather...
Wonder if it will fit my new iPad though, it was quite snug on my iPad 2.

Then again, depending on your opportunity cost you might be better off with the $30 screen protector.

Power Support for the iPad 2 fits the new iPad perfectly. I just installed an Anti-Glare this morning.

Sorry bro .... I have used MANY different screen protectors and NOTHING compares to the quality and clarity of Power Support!

I won't use anything else.

Cheap screen protectors are just that ... cheap.

Well, each to his own. Me, I'm happy with the $10-15 screen protectors I've gotten from makers like iLuv, Belkin, Scosche, etc.
