Sell me on it. I need a good blender.

LOL. Ditto for me. If he can blend a blender full of iPhone 3Gs, I'll buy one right after seeing the video. One is no match for steel blades, but let's see some real action here!!

snip repetitiveness

Get over yourself - no matter what ANYONE says - it really is just a damn phone.

I'm troubled by the intentional wasting, just a phone or not. The same point can be proved better with a clay brick. But I do agree with others, it's the extravagance that makes it go viral. Now we need to convince them to blend a Faberge egg.

It's a commercial, a publicity stunt. A very effective one thanks to YouTube.

Blendtec is a real company that makes tough-ass blenders.

Original iPhone - Will it Blend - Youtube views - 4,974,016

I was wondering how they'd be able to pay for the stuff they destroy. Even popular videos don't make much money on pay-per-click ads.

But I really don't get it. I like durable stuff, but I wonder exactly who is buying an overkill food processor like this. I don't see the commercial version selling better, I think buyers for businesses are less likely to be swayed by silly stunts like this, and I don't see a whole lot of home users paying that much for a blender that's just plain overbuilt for the job and too expensive to boot.

Something that will really burn the morons out there that don't understand is that his iPhone will be a tax right off.

A tax "right off" only means that you don't get taxed on the money spent to buy it. It doesn't reduce the taxes by the amount spent on it, so it might be $100 less taxes, certainly not $400 less taxes.

AMEN. I didn't wanna come out and say the whole, children are starving in the world, thing, but it is true, and this whole indulgent entertainment at any cost just for some cheap thrills is sickening.

I'm not perfect, but I do appreciate what I have and try to help others instead of wasting. I even feel bad if I waste too much food at a restaurant. I don't know how people can do things like this. Maybe they should visit a third world country sometime. It really changes your perspective.

It's not that people aren't allowed to do what they want with their money. And it is not about using these kinds of stunts to turn a profit which could in turn better benefit others. I am fine with both of those arguments. BUT, ULTIMATELY, It is about accomplishing all of those goals in a way that uplifts others and not just stimulates cheap indulgent american thrills!!!

Sorry for the double post. Mod please combine, thanks.

Yah man, think about all those poor starving children who don't even have an iPhone. I think they are the ones that suffer most, but does Blendtec think about them? No! They only care about one thing and one thing only, MONEY! It makes me ill to think that this is what America has become.

So um, should I send a starving child one of my three iPhones?

Yep, let's bring out all the token starving children who you all don't contribute to anyway.

Let's traipse them across the stage so you can show everyone how superior you are and how you care for those poor children. And, if you're careful, no one will learn that you haven't personally contributed to the charity that you use to shame everyone else.

Now, let's make sure you do your part. Instead of that $1200 Mac, you should have purchased the $400 PC and sent the difference you saved to the 3rd world countries. Well, actually, you shouldn't have purchased any computer at all, you should have just sent them all the money you had left over after you purchased your own food.

Oh, wait, actually, you should have denied yourself food, and sent them the money so that they could eat...

That is unless they fail to properly assemble your iPhone. Then you'll be thinking about those children.

&%#(^%#@! children can't even assemble a &^*$#!@#$#% cell phone properly.

You are correct sir. Starving or not, I want my iPhone to function correctly.

Thought so :D

LOL I knew it was which is why I posted what I did. :D

Ok, I'm on my way now to buy a "Will it blend" blender!

This guy, funniest man alive.

Make sure you blend it first, otherwise they won't be able to swallow it ;)

Oh sorry man, that was sarcasm.
I don't give a damn about the children.

Talk about missing the point. Sarcasm or not, this thread has reached an new low.
