Negative. I don't want to put EVERYONE on favorites.... Say I just called my credit card company but they were unable to fix my issue or I was on hold forever so hung up. Say I'm making arrangements to meet up with a friend that I hardly ever see, but I end up needing to make several phone calls to this person to sort things out. Say I am having a party catered and there are a few caterers that I need to call a few times to sort out pricing, food, availability etc, that isn't all worked out on one phone call.

It is handy for your "recent favorites" list. To keep your activities that you have been doing recently all in one location. (I mean technically that is what it is there for) Can you imagine if you could NEVER delete email? (but you could keep email from a few selected friends in a separate folder) You wouldn't be able to get rid of the unnecessary junk email and it would just clutter up the information that you really wanted to see. Now pretend that your email account could only hold 40 emails and when you received that any they started disappearing in a First In First Out type manner...

Yes i know that if you save the contact to your phone you won't actually "lose" it per se, but when you have 300 contacts it is a lot easier to go to your recent list. But if you have random numbers that you don't need anymore the number u r looking for will disappear more quickly.

plus i think recents needs to be reworked anyway. I'm not particularly satisfied with it

every time you call someone it bumps them to the top of your recent calls list
unless you call like 20 people and then decide you want to call your friend again there shouldnt be a problem, though, if you call 20 people after him, his call isnt really 'recent' now is it:rolleyes:

I've personally never had the need to erase my recent calls list.. all at once or individually. But I guess I can see why some people may need it, I'm sure there are legitimate and fishy reasons.... That being said I dont know why Apple didnt include this when they included the ability to delete individual text messages. Oh well like I said doesnt really affect me never had the need to delete calls at all.

Not that I do, but my gf used to ask to see my phone all the time because of suspicious activities I did. I would clear individual numbers to avoid conflict.

Since I got the iPhone and put the password on it, I say "sure" and she can't get in. But now I tell her I pay the bill (for both our phones) so I don't have to. If she pays for my iPhone bill I'll do whatever she wants me to do with the phone...cept put it in an orifice or somethin.

Excellent for you. Put that nosy bitch in her place.

You can leave your man card at the door. Oh, wait.....

Sounds like a healthy relationship LOL

So since it's dirty laundry-airing time, what were these suspicious activities?

My iPhone is NOT jailbroken, yet I am able to modify the call list as needed when I get home to my iMac and use PhoneView.

I'm not affiliated with the product or company, but it does work for those cheaters people who need it.

LMAO! It's funny now that you pointed that out. :D

I see a lot of ranting and raving about the other, basic phones that can do this. What i don't see is a reason. Better yet, the OP's reason. And comparing a single deleted call to a deleted text isn't a reason. Its a comparison.

Any time I ever felt the need to a single call, it was to hide it. Point blank, period. Then I grew up. Apple is encouraging honesty by not allowing this. Thank you Apple.

What if the call was from a resort confirming your surprise vacation?

What if it was from your spouse's brother confirming the details of a surprise birthday party?

What if you like to use recent calls to call people quickly?

There are many possible reasons to want to do this. It's a legitimate feature request.

Submit a bug report on Apple's website. (Posting about it here won't accomplish anything besides a, umm... lively... "conversation." :) ) The bug report might not accomplish anything either, but at least Apple will have an official record of it, and somebody there will look at it and at least give it a few seconds though.

Or email Steve Jobs about it:

-Steve,

When will Apple allow us to delete individual calls from our call logs on the Iphone?

-Stop cheating on your wife.
sent from my IPhone 4

I have never been in the situation where I wanted to delete and individual call but for the people saying "if you can delete one e-mail, why can't you delete one call?"

I think this is because you have a phonebook! Those e-mails (usually) aren't stored somewhere else so you have to be able to pick and chose which to keep.
BUT for calls, just go into your contacts. It's always there.

true. but sometimes it can add up quickly. sometimes I go days without making any calls (except to my fiancee) and sometimes I end up having to make like 20 calls in one day. The point is sometimes I have said "Oh right I wanna call that *insert random location* back that I called last week" but they have disappeared and since I don't save EVERY number I call into my iphone, I need to take more time to go find the number again. plus i wouldn't need to call 20 different people. I could call (or receive calls from) 2 people 10 times each, so long as they alternated back and forth. Now i'm not saying this happens ALL the time, but there is a potential use for it besides just cheaters.

Also random unwanted calls can clutter it up. sometimes I want to only have to see the numbers that I will actually need to avoid confusion from other random places I have needed to call

We should just delete all of our emails as well right:confused: Why just have the ability to delete one email when we can just delete all of them;)

this is the most retarded argument i have EVER read to date!

Have a good day...

I have no opinion either way, but the iPhone does have the ability to delete SINGLE text messages, or a whole thread. Seems it could be done with the call log just for the sake of uniformity.

Nice ASSumption on your part. By your logic the reason this feature is present on ALL other phones is to aid cheaters. Nice one.

And people delete text messages and emails because they are cheaters too:rolleyes: I asked a simple question about a function on the OS that should be a basic function and people respond by making personal attacks.. Basically all phone out there today that allow users to delete calls from their call list are have this feature in them for cheaters:rolleyes:

How difficult could this feature possibly be to have in the Iphone

I only ASSume because OP replied to other people's post and skipped the ones saying he/she is cheating, even when directly quoting the cheating ones.

I just thought it was funny... and still hasn't responded with a NO. Just "you're all attacking me blah blah blah."

Obviously not:rolleyes: Do you expect me to respond to every false and stupid assumption one makes here:confused: Was hoping you had something clever to add but I guess you preferred to join others in their sarcasm.
