Obviously not:rolleyes: Do you expect me to respond to every false and stupid assumption one makes here:confused: Was hoping you had something clever to add but I guess you preferred to join others in their sarcasm.

And yet you haven't offered up a reason for wanting to do so, other than to say "well, you can delete individual texts, so why not call records?" :p What would be the need?

I use my recent calls to call back numbers that I don't want to put in my contact list and as a faster way to call people who are not in my favorites. I don't want wrong numbers and telemarketers there.

The moralizing in this thread is downright offensive. If you can't think of any reason you'd want to delete a call other than that you're cheating, maybe you need to check your own values. Why is that the first thing that comes to mind?

Look dude. You are dealing with a bunch of elitist douche bags that are quick to judge other people from their hypocritical high horse.

These are the type of people that own Mac's. You should have known.

I can understand the desire to have this feature and it has nothing to do with the juvenile posts made by some.
Sometimes, I get a slew of business calls in a row. Some I return right away. Some I have to return later. Not everyone who calls is in my Contact list. It's CONVENIENT to be able to keep some numbers in the Recent Calls list while dumping others so I can readily find those I need to return without scrolling through 300 recents.
Is it available on lots of other phones? Yes.
Is it a dealbreaking omission? No. But there isn't any reason to assume that the only reason someone might want this feature is because they're doing something illegal, immoral or unconstitutional. And what. all of a sudden, some of you are the Morals Police?:D

It's oversimplifying things to say the only reason to delete calls is for cheating... I have been trying to find a way to delete single calls off my iPhone because it would have been useful to be able to call the domestic violence help center without getting caught by an abusive partner. I ended up having to buy a prepaid Virgin mobile phone so I can make calls without his knowledge, as if the iPhone isn't expensive enough now I have to pay for two phones. Thanks Apple for not bothering to add this feature

Wow. Wow. Wow.

First, let me say I am sorry you have found yourself in the middle of an abusive relationship. Secondly, get the heck out of it! I know it's harder than it sounds but seriously, get the heck out. Don't wait for your spouse to change. Get out!

Yeah, it's all Apple's fault.

Newsflash: you can make your own decisions; America = Freedom

Get rid of the scumbag, not the iPhone!

Wow...

I came to this forum because the CEO has an iPhone, and wanted to know how to delete single calls from his list. I know enough not to jailbreak his iPhone to do this. "Surely this simple function should be baked into the o/s, but if not, there ought to be an 'app for that' that can be acquired legitimately," I thought to myself.

But, after reading here, I was slapped yet again by the idiocracy that is Apple and it's cultist, egotistical, judgemental, and presumptous fanbois.

Is my CEO cheating? I don't know and I don't care. Probably not because he's not married. This is his personal phone, and maybe had to make business calls on it...now that business is done, he wants the calls off his phone, without deleting the entire list. Or maybe his business contact pissed him off, and he doesn't want that number on it anymore. Or maybe he figures every other cell phone that he's had does it, so why wouldn't this $200 "smartphone" that requires a $100/month phone bill do the same thing? Who ****ing knows and who ****ing cares?

The question is why is this SIMPLE functionality not baked in or easily had through the app store. The same idiots that comment on this blog about other's lives and how they should live them are the same dumbasses that tout this phone as the greatest.

Yet, when it doesn't do a VERY SIMPLE thing that a $30 nokia go phone can do, You apple idiots tell the person "you don't need that functionality anyway", and "you're a whore, quit cheating on your spouse".

Or, in the case of an abused wife, you tell her to "uproot her life and her children's life...but put up with the iPhone's drawbacks"?

Well done, you ****ing idiots.

Oh man. Pretty good 1st post and he used the search function. Nice.

Excellent post, couldn't agree more.

The answer to this is:

No, the new iPhone won't be able to do this.

Yes, it would be very easy for Apple to add this functionality.

Yes this is one of those basic telephony things where Apple is playing catch up.

No this doesn't automatically mean he's cheating on his partner, and even if he was, it's absolutely nobodies business anyway.

YES ITS POSSIBLE.
Jailbreak
Cydia
add recent delete. Its like $1.99 i believe.
done.

Wonder why people aren't helpful any more ! Its seemless

Maybe he doesn't want the same contact listed 5 or 6 times on the recent calls list. All calls to and from a contact really should be consolidated to one line.

Might have come off a bit in the rude side, but I agree with this guy completely. Is amazing the kind of narrow minded people found in this forum, that will say whatever kind of BS just to defend their beloved apple product.

Wow, just wow.....The guy asks why a basic phone feature isn't included in a high dollar phone and the responses are either personal attacks at the OP's character, or Apple didn't include it because you don't need it, or the "use the SEARCH" response. Bashing strangers on the internet for no good reason.....Some of you guys really need to back away from the keyboard and get a real life. And to the OP, Apple doesn't include this feature for the same reason they won't acknowledge the iphone's other flaws. They just don't care what the consumer wants. But hey, if I was Steve Jobs rich, and had 6.1 Billion in net worth, I probably wouldn't care either.

Unnecessary roughness

OK Guys, It's a mazing to see how this has been dragging on. A bit rough I might add. I am hunting an app that can do this one single feature. The problem for me is that I make a lot of calls and the Call Log holds a few calls in its 'database'. I can use the log as proof that I complete a call. So, for the numbers that are not needed and would limit the stored quantity or remaining 'storable' numbers would not diminish. It is unfair an quite shallow to just assume that dishonesty is the only reason for removing a number from the call log.

As a matter of fact, on the contrary, it may be as a result of honesty why one would opt to do that. For example, I really don't quite call my in-laws. However, in August, I had to resort to deleting the list because I was planning a surprise b'day party and did't want my daughter to find out. She usually plays the games on my phone.

This is such a simple ABC task that Apple should explain why it is not considered for inclusion in the list of functions.

Anyway. Nuff said. We should respect the views of others and agree to disagree. :apple:

Have they finally found a way to reinovate technology to where a smartphone can finally accomplish a simple task such as deleting a smple call from the call log without having to clear and delete the whole freakin call log/history:confused:

How difficult could be for a company with billons of dollars with cash on had to allow a smartphone user the option of deleting call individually from the call log/history??

On a side note: I use youmail. You can delete all your call logs on your phone, but have them available on the web amongst other cool features.

I'm sorry you've had to deal with the users that are all the things you described above, but not all of us are like that. I just wanted to throw that out there. :)

It would be nice....

to be able to delete individual callers from your recent call list, especially ones that are already in your contact list. I get and make business calls all the time and use the recent call list to do so. Sometimes it takes more than one call to know that you want to do business with someone enough to put them in your contact list!!!
A lot better than cluttering up your contact list with people you may only call once.
